Language has a certain relationship with cognitive thinking;humans use language to explain their thoughts.The metaphorical studied by cognitive linguistics is people use the language communication in daily life that inseparable from metaphor.This situation leads to the systematic thinking of native speakers of different languages.As a Thai student,my research intends to take Thai and Chinese “Head” words as the research main target.Analyze the metaphorical phenomenon of Thai and Chinese “Head”words based on metaphor theory and comparative linguistics theory.According to the specific semantics of “Head” words in different language environments,different target domains of“Head” are divided,then it examines the similarities and differences in the metaphors of Thai and Chinese “Head” words and their reasons.We have found that the metaphorical thinking mode of “Head” words in the two languages is universality,which is a manifestation of the commonality of the two languages.Due to the social and cultural differences between China and Thailand,which have different effects on language expression,there are also differences between the two languages.The reason for the similarity between Thai and Chinese “Head” words metaphors is that people in the two countries have similar life experience and psychological cognition in their language thinking,and the reason for the difference between Thai and Chinese “Head” words metaphors is inherent the metaphorical cognitive thinking way is different.
