| Role-playing is a popular teaching method in English classroom at present,which has an important position.Role-playing method is mainly to train students’ oral ability by imitating the characters in the material and using certain language,actions and facial expressions.It changes the boring and rigid oral practice in traditional teaching and greatly improves students’ interest and efficiency in learning oral English.Meanwhile,the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)also points out that: Primary school students are required to be able to do simple role play,good at imitation in learning,dare to express,and be able to perform short stories with the help of teachers.All these requirements show the importance of role-playing in teaching.This paper mainly focuses on the problems of role-playing method in oral English teaching of senior grade in primary school.It mainly wants to solve the following three problems: First,it investigates the application status of role-playing method in oral English teaching of senior grade in primary school.Secondly,it’s to find out the problems of role-playing method in oral English teaching of senior grade in primary school and analyze the reasons.Thirdly,some countermeasures are put forward to improve the application of role-playing method in oral English teaching of senior grade in primary school.First of all,this research using the questionnaire survey method and interview method to investigate the application of role-playing method in oral English teaching of senior grade in primary school.Through the collation and analysis of the obtained data: in the primary school English classroom,the use of role-playing method can enhance the effectiveness of oral teaching,which is of great significance to the usual teaching methods and to improve students’ interest in learning.However,role-playing method has not been properly used,and there are still many problems,including teachers lack a comprehensive and accurate understanding of role-playing method;There are deviations in teachers’ attitude and behavior towards role-playing method.The frequency of development is less,the activity time is short;Role-playing method teaching preparation is insufficient,a mere formality;Role-playing materials have a single form;The role allocation of students is not reasonable;Lack of cooperation and communication between teachers and students;Some students’ participation is not high;The teaching evaluation method,method and content are unitary.Secondly,according to the problems existing in role-playing method,it makes attribution from three aspects: teachers,students and schools.The reasons of teachers are as follows: the theoretical knowledge of role-playing method is insufficient;The ability to implement the role-playing method is insufficient;The teaching evaluation ability of teachers is insufficient and influenced by traditional teaching.The reasons for students are as follows: the limited cognitive level of students and the differences in their English proficiency.The reasons for schools are lack of teacher training and inadequate teaching facilities in schools.Finally,in order to make effective use of the role-playing method,six specific improvement countermeasures are put forward,which are: enriching teachers’ role-playing knowledge;Use a variety of role-playing styles;Expand more extracurricular teaching resources;Make adequate preparation for teaching;Enhance the interaction between teachers and students;Enrich teaching evaluation methods,methods and content. |
