A Report On The Translation Of Special Education Act Of Vermont,USA (Excerpt)

China is presently running on its course toward globalization and deepening its communication and cooperation with other countries of the world,economic exchanges between China and other countries have been on the increase,meanwhile,China has also facilitated the legalization and the rule of law,which has also further pushed forward the legal translation and largely magnified the domestic demand for legal translation.This is a report on the translation of the Special Education Act of Vermont USA(EXCERPT)which is enacted to ensure the comprehensive and integrated rights and interests of all children with disabilities or other special communities in Vermont based on their physical and mental characteristics or individual needs.This Act is characterized by loads of long sentences with varied modifications or structures,thus,how to translate the long sentences in the source text precisely and obtain the equivalence of legal functions is the key and difficulty point.During the translation process,the author adopts the following four translation techniques,namely,linear translation,reversion,division and synthesis,which are respectively supported by some examples and corresponding analysis in every facets.It is hoped that the present report can provide references and enlightenment for the legislation of special education law at home and implementation of relevant legal relief system or policies,it also can offer some constructive inspirations and reflections to the translation of long sentences in legal text.
