| Special education is a developing profession with a long history.Special education is an essential part of national primary education.It is always the focus of professional scholars and many books related to special education have been published.The translator selects the first,the fifth and the thirteenth chapter of Current Issues and Trends in Special Education: Identification,Assessment and Instruction as translation practice and discusses the guiding role of hermeneutic translation theory in the text translation.This translation practice report has four parts,including introduction,translation process,case analysis and summary.According to the text type theory of British translation theorist Peter Newmark,the source text is an informative text.As for vocabulary aspect,there are a large number of pedagogical and medical terms.As for in syntactic aspect,the source text contains many difficult and passive sentences.Therefore,the translator adopts George Steiner’s hermeneutic translation theory to guide translation practice.George Steiner’s hermeneutic translation theory is divided into four aspects: trust,aggression,import and compensation.In the case analysis part,based on hermeneutic translation theory,the translator adopts corresponding translation methods,such as omission,conversion and annotation to solve the problems.Through specific case analysis,the translator gains some experience and it is hoped to be reference and guidance for the translation of relevant texts in the future. |
