A Report On The E-C Translation Of Banks And Banking (Excerpts)

This is a translation report for the Banks and Banking of the United States.This Code prescribes standards under which national banks may purchase,sell,deal in,underwrite,and hold securities,but only chapter one and two are mentioned in this paper.Through the translation of this material,people can understand some situations of the bank and banking in the United States,so as to make a comparison with the domestic banks and banking,and extract contents conductive to the development of the domestic banks and banking industry,improving the strength of the domestic banks and banking.In the translation process,the author found there were a lot of long sentences,some of which even were composed of more than 500 words,which posed tremendous difficulties and challenges for translation.Following the linguistic features of the original text and translation cases,some translation techniques,including literal translation,reversion,division and synthesis,were proposed to analyze the difficulties in the translation of long sentences and explain the solutions.Finally,the experiences gained from the translation practice were summarized and problems to be solved were discussed,in a hope to be of some help for future translation practice.
