China and Vietnam have had good neighbourly relations over the years.Due to their close friendship,the socio-economic exchange between the two countries is essential.Although the number of Vietnamese learning Chinese are increasing,there are not many studies that infiltrate the difficulties that Vietnamese students have in learning the three skills that are:phonetics,volcabulary and grammar.Especially with the pronunciation of Chinese initials(in phonetics).The object of this article is 8Vietnamese students studying in Changsha,Hunan Province,China.Their HSK level is from level 2 to level 5,and the time for learning Chinese is from 6 months to 2 years,mainly using Experimental Phonetics,Language Transfer and Contrastive Analysis along with using Praat software to record Review and analyze VOT(Voice Onset Time),COG(Center Of Gravity)and friction time of the consonants of Vietnamese students to point out common mistakes and more advanced mistakes to make recommendations..The research content of this article is divided into 5 parts: The first part assesses the learning results and the difficulties in teaching methods applied to the learning process of foreign students through the idea.research meaning,research context and theoretical basis of research.The second part briefly introduces the phonetic system of Chinese and Vietnamese including consonants,vowels andtones.The most important thing is to give an overview of the Chinese initial consonant system and the Vietnamese first consonant system and compare the differences between them.The third part is the empirical description,the experimental design and the consonant table used in the experiment.The fourth part is divided into three chapters: empirical analysis of plosive,affricate and fricative of Vietnamese students.Each section includes the corresponding parameters of the experiment.These parameters are compared in two aspects: gender(male / female)and Region(North / South).The fifth part is mainly the shortcomings of the study,from the results of the above studies combined with the practical education status to draw the causes that lead to mistakes of Vietnamese students when pronouncing sounds in Chinese,methods and recommendations given for teaching,developing teaching materials,reference books,etc.The results of the empirical analysis conducted in this article point out the main mistakes of 8 Vietnamese students participating in the experiment while pronouncing plosive,affricate and fricative Chinese,emphasising explaining the similarities,differences and causes of mistakes.They are more likely to make mistakes such as not having enough breath,the sound is softer or tighter than the Chinese,pronouncing Chinese voiceless consonants into Vietnamese voiced consonants or pronouncing Chinese samples according to their own habits and guesses.Therefore,the sound produced was very inaccurate,the part identification and the correct pronunciation method were not good,the above reasons are not correct and clearly classified. |
