The 21st century has witnessed the increasingly abundant ways of cultural communication.Chinese network literature,as an important carrier of Chinese culture,gains momentum at the backdrop of flourishing Internet technology,meeting the needs of numerous foreign readers for foreign culture.The translation material of this thesis is selected from All Is Well written by the famous Chinese network novelist Ane.In 2019,it was adapted into a TV series of the same name which turned into a hit on several satellite channels.However,this novel has not yet been published in English.It features frequent utilization of network catchwords,Chinese four-character phrases and Chinese idioms and boasts unique Chinese way of expression and strong emotion.Thus,to convey the original flavor of the novel and take readers’ feelings into account adds to the difficulties in its translation.The development and popularization of Internet technology may gradually expand the influence of network literature so it’s of theoretical and practical significance to translate this novel.The author of this thesis employs communicative translation theory put forward by Peter Newmark which attempts to produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original and attaches great importance to the target readers’ responses.Based on communicative translation theory,this translation report mainly analyzes and reports on the translation of the network catchwords,four-character phrases and Chinese idioms in All Is Well This thesis introduces how the translator uses proper translation methods and strategies to accurately convey the communicative information of the source text to target readers and provide them with the same reading response with that obtained on readers of the source language so as to promote cultural diffusion in China and beyond.
