This paper intends to discuss the communication between the East and the West before Zhang Qian sent to the Western region in the Western Han Dynasty. From the angles of imagery, history, cultural communication and anthropology, the author chooses the Hexi Corridor of China and the ancient western region(now Xinjiang)as the main regions, and takes the ancient painted pottery culture there as the main research object, from the angle of Hexi Corridor-Western region(now Xinjiang),this paper analyzes the connection and blending between East and West art and culture in the early stage of civilization. It briefly combs the trade and cultural transmission routes from Yangshao culture to Majiayao culture, through Hexi corridor to Xinjiang,to Central Asia、West Asia and north to Siberia. We have carried on the analysis and research to the Western region-Hexi Corridor colored pottery art shape and the pattern decoration, from the spreading vein of colored pottery culture,we can see the development course of Neolithic civilization in Central Plains to northwest China, which proves that the origin of early bronze civilization in the western region is mainly influenced by Chinese local painted pottery culture. But the source of the early Western culture not only in the East, but also from Central Asia,Siberia and beyond. In this way,we can see that in the late Colored Pottery Age and the early Bronze Age,cultures from the Central Plains and from West Asia、Central Asia and Siberia met in the Western Corridor and Hexi Corridor. This article mainly takes the Hexi Corridor Majiayao later period color pottery, the Qijia culture, the Siba culture, and so on,and Xinjiang bronze age Hami Tianshan North Road culture,Yanbulake culture,Subexi culture,ChawuHuGoukou culture as the main clue to carry on the analysis,at the same time,it involves some cultural factors related to Central Asia and Siberia. This paper discusses the correlation and difference between the late Hexi Corridor painted Pottery-Western-domain bronze culture and the surrounding cultures, and through the analysis of Hexi Corridor-Western region painted pottery art,it can be seen that the the phenomenon of cultural blending between the early cultures of the Western region-Hexi Corridor and the cultures of other regions, which not only affects each other but also has its native independent characteristics. In the ancient times,East and West cultures met, communicated and blended with Hexi Corridor in Xinjiang region of China, which brought up the diversity of prehistoric culture in Xinjiang-Hexi Corridor. It can also be said that the "painted pottery road" played an important role before the "Silk Road" of the Han Dynasty,The links between Xinjiang and the Central Plains,Central Asia and West Asia can be traced back to the earlier Bronze Age,the special natural ecological environment did not affect the spread and exchange of culture, which accelerated the early civilization exchange between the East and the West. This also proves once again the particularity, unity and diversity of Chinese prehistoric culture.
