The Reason Exploration And Governance Research Of Infodemic

As the COVID-19 epidemic continues to spread around the world,humans are not only struggling with the COVID-19 virus,but also with a large amount of disinformation.The World Health Organization(WHO)calls this “pandemic of disinformation” an “infodemic”,emphasizing that information is so mixed that it is difficult to distinguish between the real and the fake,so that people cannot get timely and effective help and guidance.Although the concept of “infodemic” was put forward as early as the SARS epidemic,it really caught the attention of all sectors of society in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak,which posed serious threats and challenges to personal physical and mental health,government epidemic prevention and control and international anti-epidemic cooperation,and undermined the current efforts of global epidemic prevention and control.Therefore,we have a correct understanding of the“infodemic” and understand the reasons and effects of the “infodemic”,which is not only conducive to the governance of the “infodemic”,but also conducive to the prevention and control of the current global epidemic,so that mankind can overcome the epidemic as soon as possible and win the war without smoking.At the same time,under the background that the Party and the government attach great importance to information governance in cyberspace,the rapid development of the Internet and the surge of the number of Internet users,as well as the social media becoming the main channel for the public to obtain information,I think it is necessary to analyze the causes and study the governance of “infodemic”.Therefore,this paper firstly sorts out the development process of the concept of “infodemic”.On the basis of understanding the “infodemic”,it emphasizes the necessity of governance intervention in “infodemic”,and lays the theoretical foundation of “infodemic”;Secondly,it deeply analyzes the reasons for the formation of the “infodemic” from three aspects: emotion,media and system,and divides the “infodemic” into three types: medical,political and social according to its main communication content;Thirdly,this paper further explores the derivative hazards of “infodemic” and its existing governance difficulties,so as to provide targeted directions for the governance of “infodemic”;Finally,this paper emphasizes that on the basis of the logic of dialogue and communication,multiple subjects can co-govern the "infodemic",and each subject should actively play its own role,so as to realize the optimization of the "infodemic" governance effectiveness.To sum up,the prevention and control of “infodemic” is not only an important part of public health emergency management,but also a practical need of ecological governance of information content in cyberspace,and an inevitable requirement of promoting the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity.Strengthening the research on “infodemic” governance is of great value to individual physical and mental health,social harmony and stability,national government image and global anti-epidemic cooperation.Therefore,the phenomenon of “infodemic”should arouse the attention of all walks of life.
