Objective By comparing the curative effect of three groups,to investigate the effect of Huoxue Xiaozhong Decoction orally and its combination with the Chinese Herbal Formula externally in the preoperative treatment of Calcaneal fractures, and to provide clinical data to support the preoperative treatment of Calcaneal fractures. Methods Sixty patients with Calcaneal fractures who were hospitalized at Jiangnan Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University of Binjiang College from December 2020 to December 2021 were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into three groups of 20 patients each, with control group Ⅰ using conventional routine treatment, control group Ⅱ adding Huoxue Xiaozhong Decoction orally on the basis of control group Ⅰ,and observation group adding Chinese Herbal Formula externally on the basis of control group Ⅱ.All clinical data of all subjects were included in SPSS 25.0 statistical software, and the VAS scores and ankle-heel-ankle circumference difference before and on the 1st,3rd and 5th day after treatment, and the time of positive skin fold sign, the number of cases of tension blisters and patient satisfaction on the 5th day after treatment were compared among the three groups to evaluate the three treatment methods in the preoperative treatment of Calcaneal fracture. Results A total of 60 patients who met the enrollment criteria were included in this study, among which 1 case in the observation group was shed due to the request for transfer, and 59 cases were finally completed.Comparison of general data such as gender, age, time after trauma, fracture types, degree of pain and swelling in the three groups before treatment showed no statistically significant differences(P>0.05)and were comparable. The VAS score and ankle-heel-ankle circumference difference of the three groups of patients on the 5th day after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The differences between VAS scores and ankle-heel-ankle circumference difference on days 1 and 3 after treatment were not statistically significant in the three groups(P>0.05);VAS scores and ankle-heel-ankle circumference difference on day 5 after treatment in the observation group(1.63±0.76 points,1.06±0.13 cm)were significantly lower than those in control group Ⅰ(2.90±0.64 points,1.64±0.21 cm)and control group Ⅱ(2.40±0.75 points,1.27±0.20 cm),and control group Ⅱ was significantly lower than control group Ⅰ.All differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparing the time to appearance of skin fold sign and satisfaction score after treatment in the three groups, the observation group(4.4±1.02 days,91.79±8.59 points)was significantly better than the control group Ⅰ(6.05±0.95 days,73.20±4.69 points)and the control group Ⅱ(5.15±1.09 days,85.20±11.02 points),and the control group II was significantly better than the control group Ⅰ,and the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).The number of cases of tonic blisters and the occurrence of adverse reactions in the three groups were analyzed, and the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of Huoxue Xiaozhong Decoction orally and Chinese Herbal Formula externally can effectively relieve the pain and swelling before Calcaneal fracture surgery, shorten the waiting time before Calcaneal fracture surgery and increase patient satisfaction, and the clinical use of it is safe, without obvious adverse reactions, and the drugs are convenient to take and suitable for clinical use.
