| Objective:To explore the improvement of clinical symptoms of patients with constipation after stroke by quick needle insertion therapy at Baliao point combined with abdominal acupuncture,we hope to provide a new effective and safe treatment for clinical.Methods:First,sixty-four patients with constipation after stroke who met the requirements were screened out according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,then all patients were divided into treatmentl group and control group on the basis of a ratio of 1:1 by random remainder grouping method,with 32 cases in each group.All patients had an individualized therapeutic plan,including drugs and basic acupuncture.Under this premise,the control group were treated with acupuncture acupoints of abdomen:the left Shui Dao,the left Gui Lai,the left Wai Shui Dao,the left Wai Gui Lai.while the treatment group received additional quick needle insertion therapy at Baliao point based on the control group.At three-weeks treatment,all patients were acupunctured once a day and rested for one day after six consecutive days of treatment.In order to explore the clinical efficacy between the two treatment methods,the constipation symptoms scale and tassessment of constipation quality of life questionnaire(PAC-QOL)were scored before and after treatment,while the first defecation time after treatment were recorded,then the results were statistically analyzed.Results:1.Before treatment,there were no statistical differences between the treatment group and the control group not only in gender composition,age distribution,type of stroke,course of disease,previous medical history,degree of neurological deficit(NIHSS),but also in the scores of constipation symptom scale and the PAC-QOL(P>0.05),which showed comparability.2.After treatment,the constipation symptoms scores of the two groups were lower than scores of pre-treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of treatment group was significantly lower than that of another group(P<0.05);the scores of each item of constipation in two groups were lower than those of pre-treatment(P<0.05),the treatment group had greater improvement of stool type,defecation interval,difficulty of defecation and speed of defecation than the control group(P<0.05),nevertheless,the two groups had the similar efficacy in the feeling of endless defecation,abdominal distension and abdominalgia(P>0.05).3.After treatment,the first defecation time of the treatment group was significantly different from that of the control group(P<0.05),the former worked more quickly.4.After treatment,the PAC-QOL scores of the two groups were lower than scores of pre-treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of treatment group was lower than that of another group(P<0.05),which has statistical difference.5.Comparing the treatment effects of two group,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.5%,and another was 74.2%,which had statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both quick needle insertion therapy at Baliao point combined with abdominal acupuncture and simple acupuncture at abdominal points could improve the clinical symptoms of patients with constipation after stroke,but the former had more advantages in improving stool type,defecation interval,difficulty of defecation,speed of defecation and first defecation time by comparing with the latter.2.The improvement of the quality of daily life of patients with constipation after stroke by quick needle insertion therapy at Baliao point combined with abdominal acupuncture was greater than that by using abdominal acupuncture alone.3.Quick needle insertion therapy at Baliao point combined with abdominal acupuncture was more effective in the treatment of constipation after stroke,and it was a safe and feasible treatment method. |
