Case Work Practice Of Nursing Service For The Elderly With Cognitive Disorder In Nursing Institutions

.With the continuous development of China’s aging process,the proportion of the elderly population is rising,thus,the problem of taking care of the elderly looms large.Having an elderly person with cognitive impairment can make a family at a loss,while tens of millions of family members are accompanying their relatives on a long journey.Because of the difficulty of caring for cognitive impairment,more and more families with cognitive impairment choose to let the elderly receive services in nursing homes.Although it can’t be cured or reversed,cognitive impairment can be treated and managed through professional and meticulous care and response which can enable the elderly with cognitive impairment to maintain and improve their life quality for a long time.As a professional force in the social care service system,social work should make full use of professional theory and knowledge to provide effective help for this group.The study takes Q pension care center in Changchun City of Jilin Province as an example,and the cognitive impairment group in the institution is selected as the subject.Cognitive disorder can be specifically manifested as memory disorders,disorientation,implementation dysfunction,aphasia,anorexia,agnosia and so on.The simple mental state Inventory(MMSE)was used to investigate and evaluate the intervention effect.The research objects meeting the research standards were selected,and the service scheme was designed according to the specific situation of the client.The data before and after the service were compared to show the intervention effect.In the process of case service,it is carried out according to the six stages of case work,including case receiving,evaluation,scheme design,case implementation,case evaluation and case closing,and records are made to grasp the change and growth of service objects and respond to the needs of service objects in a timely manner.Through the intervention of social work,the emotional changes of the elderly with cognitive impairment caused by diseases are alleviated,and the occurrence frequency is reduced.It proves that the case social work method has certain feasibility and practicability for the nursing service intervention of the elderly with cognitive impairment in pension institutions,and provides reference for the practical research of social work intervention in the future.
