Service User’s Point Of View The Medical Social Work Profession

The research category of this study is medical social work, which is designed to discuss the ideas and feelings of the people who receive social services from service user’s point of view, and think how the medical social work responded the change of the society and the professional environment.Contemporary, this article try to enhance the responsibilities and roles of this major, hope to reach the goal that could advance development of medical social work in the country and can be the reference of development of other field of social work.Moreover, in terms of research framework, this paper adopts the ecological system theory so as to comprehend the interactive situation between the service users and other systems. In terms of research method, this research adopts quality research method. We pick8service users meeting the standards through purposive sampling. We also collect the service users’experience and thoughts before and after their contact with medical social workers based on the means of in-depth interviews, later,we conclude from the analysis of the research results that:the composition of the service users are multiple, which includes patents themselves and caretakers; the service users seek medical social workers for service mainly for their financial situation,the problems encountered in their care of the patients, and the discharged patients’psychological problems; most of the service users think the social workers’ competent is too limited to satisfy every service users’expectation and needs, while some other service users feel warm and grateful after their service, all these induce the original assessment and suggestions about medical social works, and through the orientation of medical social works from the respect of service users, we find that the indirect mode of the contact between the service users and medical social workers leads to that medical social workers should provide active and positive service so as not to resign from the leading post. Meanwhile, we should pay attention to the participation situation and intention to promote the establishment and extension of interactive relationship between the service users ad medical social workers.On the foundation of the above research, the researcher gives concrete suggestions about the medical social work, medical places and the future research orientation in order to promote the service users’condition, and sum up the conclusions and shortage of this research. I hope this research can bring some positive effect to the later researchers and contribute to the long-run prosperous development of medical social works in our nation.
