Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Chronic Urticaria With Warming Acupuncture And Cupping At Shenque Acupoint

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of warm acupuncture combined with acupoint cupping on pruritus,wheal symptoms,and quality of life in patients with chronic urticaria(Cu),a feasibility analysis was performed on this topic,thereby opening a new therapeutic idea for the treatment of this disease.Methods:A total of 72 patients with chronic urticaria(wind and cold type)from the Department of acupuncture and dermatology,Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese medicine(Changchun,China)who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups of 36 patients each,the treatment group was given warm acupuncture combined with acupoint cupping therapy(the acupuncture points are Geshu,Quchi,Hegu,Xuehai,Weizhong,Fengmen and Feishu),and the control group was given conventional acupuncture treatment,the urticaria symptom grading scale score and dermatology life quality inventory(DLQI)score were compared before and after the completion of the treatment by using the urticaria symptom grading score as the primary reference measure,and the patients were followed up 3 months after the end of the treatment.Statistical analysis was performed using spss25.0.Results:Before treatment,the general data,urticaria symptom grading scores,and DLQI scores of the two groups did not differ significantly(P > 0.05).After completion of all treatments,scores on each scale were collated.The clinical efficacy was mainly evaluated by referring to the urticaria symptom grading scale,and the results showed that: the scores of both groups decreased significantly with intragroup contrast(P < 0.01),and patients in the combination of warm acupuncture and Shenque acupoint cupping group recovered from the disease,showed remarkable improvement and no effect,the numbers of patients were 9,12,9,and 3,respectively,with an overall response rate of 90.91% and a significant healing rate of63.63%.The number of patients healed,showed improvement,improved,and no effect in the conventional acupuncture group was 5,7,15,and 6 patients,respectively,resulting in an overall response rate of 81.82% and a remarkable healing rate of 36.36%.P = 0.038 < 0.05)for the combined effect of treatment and control.At the 3-month follow-up after treatment,three out of nine cases recovered and the recurrence rate was 33.33% in the warm acupuncture combined with Shenque acupoint cupping group,and three out of five cases recovered and the recurrence rate was 60.60%.Conclusion:The combination of warm acupuncture and acupoint cupping with conventional acupuncture in the treatment of chronic urticaria(cold and wind type)alleviated the clinical symptoms of patients,and the clinical effect of warm acupuncture combined with acupoint cupping group was superior to that of the conventional acupuncture group in the effective rate,significant healing rate,recurrence rate,and improvement of patients’ quality of life.In terms of comprehensive efficacy,warm acupuncture combined with acupoint cupping is a highly effective and feasible treatment for Chronic urticaria...
