| Objective:To explore the effectiveness and feasibility of virtual reality technology based on five elements theory in the treatment of chronic insomnia with liver depression syndrome.Methods:72 cases of chronic insomnia with liver depression were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,36 cases in each group.Treatment group:virtual reality treatment intervention, randomly selected virtual scene(bamboo sea,Moonlight in lotus pond, grassland scenery,Jiangnan Watertown). The control group was given sleep hygiene education. The course of treatment was 4 weeks. Before and after treatment,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)and insomnia liver depression syndrome score were used to evaluate the sleep quality of patients;Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD-17)were used to evaluate anxiety and depression.Results:1.72 patients were enrolled in this clinical study,of which 60 patients completed clinical observation,3 patients were excluded and 3 patients were exfoliated in the treatment group; In the control group,1 case was excluded and 5 cases were exfoliated. The total abscission rate was 16.67%.2.Before treatment, there were no significant differences in age, gender,PSQI and each factor score,TCM insomnia liver depression syndrome score,HAMA and HAMD-17 between the two groups(P>0.05),and the baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable.3.After 4 weeks of intervention, the effective rate of the treatment group was 63.33%,and the effective rate of the control group was 23.33%,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The comparison of PSQI scores between the two groups showed that the PSQI scores of the treatment group decreased significantly compared with the control group(P<0.001);The results of intra-group comparison showed that the total score of PSQI in the treatment group was improved after intervention, with statistical significance(P<0.001).5.Comparison of PSQI factor scores between the two groups showed that after intervention, sleep quality, sleep time, sleep disorders and daytime impairment factors in the treatment group were improved, with statistical significance(P<0.05);Intra-group comparison showed that there were statistical significance in sleep quality, time to fall asleep, sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders and daytime impairment factors in the treatment group(P<0.05).6.The comparison between the two groups of TCM insomnia liver depression syndrome score showed that the treatment group was statistically significant in improving the decline of insomnia liver depression syndrome score compared with the control group(P<0.001),Intra-group comparative analysis showed that the total scores of both control and treatment groups were improved after intervention(P<0.05),and compared with the control group, the improvement of the scores of insomnia liver depression syndrome in the treatment group was more significant(P<0.001).7.The HAMA comparison between the two groups showed that the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05);Within groups, the total score of HAMA in both control group and treatment group improved after intervention, and the decrease in treatment group was more significant(P<0.001).8.Comparison of HAMD-17 scores between the two groups showed that the improvement of HAMD-17 scores in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group(P<0.001);Intra-group comparison showed that after 4 weeks of intervention, the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.001).Conclusion:Virtual reality technology based on the theory of five elements can effectively improve the sleep quality of patients with chronic insomnia with liver depression, increase sleep time, reduce daytime functional damage, and reduce the level of anxiety and depression without adverse reactions, which is worthy of promotion. |
