Objective: The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical efficacy of using Wu Xing music combined with the "jian pi shu gan tang" in treating liver depression and spleen deficiency type insomnia. The goal is to provide more clinical experimental data for using Wu Xing music combined with traditional Chinese medicine in treating liver depression and spleen deficiency type insomnia, and to provide more treatment options for insomnia patients, reduce their financial burden, and further improve their quality of life.Method: This study adopts a randomized, controlled experimental method to divide72 eligible patients into two groups, with 36 patients in the treatment group and 36 in the control group. The treatment group receives the combination therapy of Jian Pi Shu Gan Tang(a traditional Chinese medicine prescription)and Wu Xing music therapy, with the music selected from the "Traditional Chinese Five Elements Music" in the key of Jiao Diao and Gong Diao, which can be listened to at any time once a day, with six days of treatment followed by one day of rest per week, for a total of four weeks. The control group receives only Jian Pi Shu Gan Tang as the treatment. The treatment period for both groups is four weeks. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptom Score are used to compare the differences between the two groups before and after treatment, and statistical methods are used to analyze the differences in therapeutic efficacy and safety.Result:1.This study included a total of 72 patients,of which 68 completed the clinical observation, with a dropout rate of 4 cases,2 in the treatment group and 2 in the control group.2.There was no significant difference in basic information such as gender, course of disease, and age between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).3.After 4 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate in the treatment group and the control group were 88.24% and 79.41%,respectively.Within-group comparison showed that there were significant differences in PSQI and TCM symptom scores before and after treatment in both groups, and both groups showed a decrease in PSQI score and TCM symptom score after treatment.Between-group comparison showed significant differences in sleep quality, time, efficiency, and daytime dysfunction on the PSQI score, but no significant differences in sleep onset, sleep disorders, and use of hypnotic drugs. On the TCM symptom score, there were significant differences in the therapeutic effects on insomnia, dizziness, vivid dreaming, headache, irritability, and loose stools. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of chest tightness and pain, fatigue, and decreased appetite. Conclusion: The combination of Five Element Music and Jianpi Shugan Decoction,as well as the use of Jianpi Shugan Decoction alone, can improve liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency type insomnia, reduce PSQI scores and various TCM symptom scores, with significant efficacy and high safety. Moreover, the combination of Five Element Music and Jianpi Shugan Decoction is more effective in treating insomnia than Jianpi Shugan Decoction alone.
