| Objective: To explore the etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of subthreshold depression from the perspective of "phlegm and stasis repressing Yang qi",and to observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of modified Qi Ge decoction based on the method of motivating qi,scattering phlegm and stasis in the treatment of this syndrome. This study aims to explore the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of subthreshold depression and provide a new idea for the prevention and treatment of moderate and major depression. Methods: Divide Sixty subthreshold depression patients who met the inclusion criteria into a treatment group and a control group randomly by using a randomized controlled trial.Among them,33 patients in the treatment group were treated with modified Qi Ge decoction;while another 33 patients in the control group were treated with Shugan jieyu capsules. Both groups were treated for 6 weeks.Observe and compare changes of scores in CES-D,HAMD-17 and TCM syndromes of subthreshold depression before and after treatment in order to appraise the efficacy of each group. Results: In the evaluation of the overall efficacy, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 87.50%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 61.29%.The curative effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group;the scores of HAMD-17 scale and CES-D scale were reduced in both groups, and the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. In the improvement of TCM syndromes, the TCM syndrome scores were decreased in both groups, and the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. Conclusion: Repressed Yang qi by phlegm and stasis is the main cause of subthreshold depression.Modified Qi Ge decoction can effectively relieve patients with depression and bad somatic symptoms, which confirming modified Qi Ge decoction has curative clinical effects of subthreshold depression.Besides, there are no evident side effects during the trial, the decoction is worthy of further application in clinical. |
