Objective:Detection of serum interleukin-9 in non-cancer members in liver cancer highly incidence families,to analysis the levels of IL-9 in l i-ver cancer familial aggregation and the relationship between them. Methods:We studied 202 cases,on half of the total cases as the research group which including healthy people in high incidence of liver cancer families in Guangxi, and subjects in the control group with no cancer history in their families were health. The control group were from the same area, gender,HBs Ag carrying status and their age difference within 5 years. With the total of202 cases, the age range 3 to 78(mean 30.1±18.3)years old in the research group and those from control group were 4 to 77(mean 30.4±18.3)years old. There were 56 males and 45 females,18 HBs Ag positive cases and 83 HBs Ag negative cases. The 101 cases of research group were divided into three groups, including the first-degree relatives group(41 cases),the second-degree relatives group(28 cases)and third-degree relatives and above group(32 cases),according to different genetic coefficient.Results:(1)The levels of serum IL-9 in the research group and the control group were 32.77(21.53,63.66)ng/ml and 28.45(19.18,43.08)ng/ml, and there was no statistical differences among them(P>0.05).The expr-ession of serum IL-9 in male in the two groups were 34.23(21.67,68.85)ng/ml and 28.00(20.78,39.74)ng/ml,while in female were 30.88(21.53,56.44)ng/ml and 29.61(18.92,44.09)ng/ml,there were no statistically differrence with the same gender among the two groups(P>0.05).(2)The le-vels of IL-9 between the two groups with HBs Ag positive were 19.79(19.79,38.04)ng/ml and 26.14(14.65,32.42)ng/ml,while the levels of IL-9of them with HBs Ag negative were 26.14(14.65,32.42)ng/ml and 26.14(14.65,32.42)ng/ml.In brief, there were no obvious difference in the same pre-sence of the HBV surface antigen(P>0.05).(3)In the research gro up,the IL-9 levels of the first-degree,the second-degree and the third-d egree relatives and above group were 30.88(18.54,52.43)ng/ml,35.22(30.44,91.20)ng/ml and 28.06(20.62,64.47)ng/ml,there were no statistically differe-nce(P > 0.05).In the familial aggregation cluster, the levels of s erum IL-9 in 2-3 cases propositus were 30.72(21.40,65.27)ng/ml,whil e those in 4 cases and above group were 33.68(23.99,70.75)ng/ml,it’s also no statistically difference.(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)IL-9 has no relationship to familial aggregation of liver cancer in Guangxi.(2)HBV infection do not affect the expression of IL-9.(3)Expressions of IL-9 has not related to heredity.
