Objective:The purpose of this study was to provide the reference for improving medicine compliance and health status in elderly patients with hypertension through understanding the self-perceived burden, protection motivation, and medicine compliance status and demographic characteristics of the elderly hypertensive patients;clarifying the correlation between self-perceived burden, protection motivation, and medicine compliance;exploring the influence path of self-perceived burden and protection motivation on medicine compliance in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods:This survey used the convenience sampling method to select the elderly patients with hypertension as research object who met the inclusion criteria of this study in a community health service center in Yanji City from May to July 2019.The research tools of this surveyincluded general data questionnaire,self-perceived burden scale, protection motivation scale, medicine compliance scale.SPSS20.0 and AMOS21.0 were used for data analysis and processing, and the inspection level was set to α=0.05.Results:(1)Distribution of general demographic characteristics of the research object:The average age of the 300 subjects was 68.49±5.95;among them,165 were female(55.0%),207 were Han(69.0%),and 108 finished junior high school(36.0%);monthly income less than 2000 yuan accounted for 33.7%(101),and 117 people(39.0%)had a disease course of no more than 5 years,161(53.7%)had no complications.(2)Status of self-perceived burden of the research object:The study object’s self-perceived burden score was 25.60±8.10,which was at a mild level. The self-perceived burden level of the research object was significantly different in different genders, courses of disease and complications(P<0.05).(3)Status of protection motivation of the research object:The research object’s protection motivation score was 96.16±19.23.The research object’s protection motivation score differed in different education levels and courses of disease(P<0.05).(4)Status of medicine compliance of the research object:The research object’s medicine compliance score was 4.70±1.92,and the medicine compliance rate was 32.0%.The research object’s medicine compliance score varied in different courses of disease and complications(P<0.05).(5)Correlation between self-perceived burden, protection motivation and medicine compl-iance:Medicine compliance was negatively correlated with self-perceived burden, and positive-ly correlated with protection motivation(P<0.05);self-perceived burden was negatively corre-lated with protection motivation(P<0.05).(6)Multiple linear regression of medicine compliance of the research object:After control-ling the general demographic characteristics, multiple linear regression showed that the explanatory power of self-perceived burden to the medicine compliance level of the research object increased by 27%(F=36.497,P<0.001);and the explanatory rate of the protection moti-vation to the medicine compliance level of the research object increased by 20.5%(F=68.899,P<0.001).(7)The influence path of self-perceived burden and protection motivation on medicine compliance:The fit index of the structural equation model of the relationship between the subject’s self-perceived burden, protection motivation and medicine compliance is:χ2/df<0.5,GFI、IFI NFI、TFI、CFI>0.90,PCFI、PNFI>0.5,RMESA<0.1.It showed that the fitting result is better. The protection motivation had a full mediating effect between self-perceived burden and medicine compliance, with an effect value of-0.624.Conclusions:(1)The self-perceived burden of elderly hypertensive patients is at a mild burden level, and females, people with longer course of illness and more complications have higher levels of the self-perceived burden.(2)Elderly hypertensive patients with shorter course of disease and higher education have higher levels of protection motivation.(3)The medicine compliance of elderly patients with hypertension is poor, and those with longer course of disease and more complications have poorer medicine compliance.(4)The higher the score of self-perceived burden, the worse the medicine compliance;the higher the score of the protection motivation, the better the medicine compliance of elderly patients with hypertension. The medicine compliance of elderly patients with hypertension can be affected b y the course of disease,self-perceived burden and protection motivation(5)The protection motivation of elderly patients with hypertension plays completely medi-ating role between self-perceived burden and medicine compliance.
