Objective Aiming to assess reliability and criterion validity of the Wolf Motor Function Test(WMFT)for Chinese patients with cerebral apoplexy sequela period. Methods A design with 33 sequela period patients following stroke.WMFT and Fugl Meyer Assessment-Upper Extremity(FMA-UE)were used to assess all patients by Two assessors respectively, aiming to test their reliability;a week later one assessor did that again with WMFT,FMA-UE is a scale for detecting criterion validity of WMFT.Results①Reliability concludes interrater reliability,test-retest reliability, internal consistency.Inter-rater reliability was good, including the perfomance rating and time of every task and the total perfomance ratings and median time of WMFT.ICC of the total perfomance ratings was 0.994(0.987-0.997),P<0.01 and of median time was 0.976(0.960-0.996),P<0.01.Test-retest reliability was good, including the perfomance rating and time of every task and the total perfomance ratings and median time of WMFT.ICC of the total perfomance ratings was 0.994(0.988-0.997),P<0.01 and for median time was 0.953(0.943-0.968),P<0.01.Cronbach’a coefficient of the total perfomance ratings was 0.966 and of median time was 0.829,which showed adequate internal consistency.②Criterion validity was good.Spearman rank correlation coefficient p between the total performance ratings of WMFT with scores of FMA-UE was 0.822,P=0.00,p for median time of WMFT was-0.686,P=0.00 and p for the mean completion rate of WMFT was 0.489,P=0.04.Conclusion WMFT has good reliability and criterion validity, the average task completion can be used as new indicators.WMFT is suitable for assessing function of the upper extremities and lower extremities in patients with cerebral apoplexy sequelae period. |
