Sinicization And Reliability And Validity Test Of The Abilities’ Scale Of The Informal Caregiver Of The Stroke-dependent Elderly

Objective:1.This study introduced the Abilities’Scale of the informal caregiver of the Stroke-dependent Elderly(ECPICID-AVC),specially developed by Portuguese scholar Odete Araujo et al.for informal caregivers of elderly stroke survivors of the Stroke-dependent Elderly.According to the Chinese cultural background and medical environment,the ECPICID-AVC scale was translated into Chinese and cross-culturally adjusted to form the Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC scale.2.To test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC,and to evaluate the scientific validity and applicability of the scale,so as to provide a more rigorous assessment tool forassessing theability andneeds of informal caregivers of elderly stroke patients in China.Methods:1.Following the Brislin translation model,the English version of ECPICID-AVC was translated forward and back,and cross-cultural adaptation was carried out through consultation with the original authorand expert letterconsultation.2.Through the method of pre-experiment,30 informal caregivers of elderly stroke patients who met the inclusion criteria in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation of a ClassⅲGrade A hospital in Ganzhou were selected to conduct a survey,and the preliminary Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC scale was adjusted and modified according tothe feedback of thesurvey.3.The reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC were tested in 432informal caregivers of elderly stroke patients from 3 secondary and above general hospitals in Ganzhou by convenience sampling method.SPSS 26.0 and Amos 24.0 were used to analyze the data.The reliability was evaluated by Cronbach’sαcoefficient and test-retest reliability,and the validity was evaluated by content validity and construct validity(exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factoranalysis).Finally,the Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC scale was formed.Results:1.The Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC scale consists of 7 dimensions,including the Skills to assist with meals,skills to feed through nasogastric tube,skills to assist with personal hygiene,skills to assist with transfers,skills to assist with changing positions,skills to assist with toilet use,skills to assist with dressing/undressing,with a total of 25 items.2.Validity analysis(1)Content validity:the I-CVI of each item ranges from 0.875 to 1.000,and the S-CVI of the total scale is 0.960.(2)Construct validity:Exploratory factor analysis of the Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC with25 items extracted a total of 7 common factors,and the cumulative variance contribution rate is85.705%.Confirmatory factor analysis was performed on it,and the results showed that the factor model has a good fit,and the fitting index is as follows:χ~2/df=2.021,RMR=0.047,GFI=0.852,AGFI=0.809,NFI=0.940,IFI=0.969,TLI=0.963,CFI=0.969,RMSEA=0.069.3.Reliability analysis(1)Internal consistency:the total Cronbach’sαcoefficient of the scale is 0.833,and the Cronbach’sαcoefficient ofeach dimension is between 0.752-0.984.(2)Test-retest reliability:the test-retest reliability of the total scale is 0.916,and the test-retest reliability of each dimension is between 0.888 and 0.982.Conclusion:The Chinese version of ECPICID-AVC has good reliability and validity,which can provide a more rigorous assessment tool for nursing workers to evaluate the care skills of informal caregivers of elderly strokepatients inclinical work.
