Study On The Current Situation And Influencing Factors Of Injury And Risk Behaviors Among College Students In Guizhou Province

Objective:To understand the current situation and influencing factors of unintentional injury risk behavior,intentional injury risk behavior and injury occurrence of college students in Guizhou Province,so as to provide theoretical reference and scientific basis for the government,education and health departments to formulate strategies and measures to prevent and control the occurrence of injury and related risk behaviors.Methods:Using the method of multi-stage stratified random sampling,an on-the-spot anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among 3506college students from six universities in Guiyang City,Bijie City and Qiandongnan City,Guizhou Province by using the Chinese Adolescent Health-related/risk behavior questionnaire(College students version).The questionnaire was entered with Epidata3.1 software,and the data was analyzed by SPSS25.0.The adoption rate and constituent ratio were used to describe the counting data,χ~2test was used to test the general demographic differences of injury risk behaviors,the common factors were extracted by principal component analysis,and the common factors were divided into Q1,Q2,Q3 and Q4 groups from low to high scores by principal component analysis.The influencing factors of injury were analyzed by binary unconditional logistic regression.Results:A total of 3506 people were investigated,including 1234 in Guiyang(35.2%),1138 in Bijie(32.5%),1134 in Qiandongnan(32.3%),of which 1089boys(31.1%)and 2417 girls(68.9%).There were 1718 students from undergraduate colleges(49.0%)and 1788 students from junior colleges(51.0%).The reporting rate of unintentional injury dangerous behavior was63.9%,of which,the reporting rate of dangerous behavior of falling was4.5%-23.7%;the reporting rate of walking violation was 41.3%;the reporting rate of cycling violation was 1.7%～13.2%;swimming and skating in unsafe places were 12.0%and 8.0%respectively;carrying dangerous goods was2.7%;and accidental ingestion of drugs was 2.3%.The reporting rate of intentional injury risk behavior was 64.4%,of which,the reporting rate of bullying on campus was between 3.3%and 28.0%,and the reporting rate of undesirable hidden psychological behavior was between 12.8%and 16.2%.3.2%often or always went to and from school without security,and the reporting rate of fighting was 8.2%,self-injury 8.8%.The reporting rate of suicidal behavior was between 2.3%and 8.9%,and that of running away from home was between 5.4%and 16.9%.A total of 231 people had been injured,with an injury report rate of 6.6%.The top three types of injuries were sprain,fall and traffic accidents,accounting for 19.0%,18.7%and 9.9%,respectively,and the top three places of injury were home,road,street station and school stadiums,accounting for 37.5%,11.4%and 9.8%,respectively.The severity of injury was more than 1 day of medical treatment or rest,1-9 days of hospitalization,more than 10 days of hospitalization without disability,and partial or total loss of normal life,work or learning ability,accounting for 67.3%,7.5%,15.7%and 9.4%,respectively.There were significant differences in injury between different genders(P<0.05).The analysis of the influencing factors of injury showed that the incidence of injury in Qiandongnan was positively correlated with the incidence of injury in Bijie compared with OR=1.663,95%CI:1.128～2.453,and that mother’s occupation as self-employed industrial and commercial households relative to workers,farmers and freelancers(OR=2.161,95%CI:1.129～4.134),self-injury(OR=2.717,95%CI:1.826～4.042),being beaten in a date(OR=3.388,95%CI:1.684～6.817),falling risk behavior Q3 relative to Q1(OR=1.978,95%CI:1.202～3.254),unsafe place behavior Q3 relative to Q1(OR=1.671,95%CI:1.093～2.555),campus psychological violence Q3 relative to Q1(OR=1.556,95%CI:1.108～2.186),campus physical violence(OR=2.333,95%CI:1.613～3.374),exercise behavior Q3 relative to Q1(OR=1.577,95%CI:1.004～2.477)and Q4(OR=1.934,95%CI:1.233～3.033)were positively correlated with the occurrence of injury(P<0.05).Conclusions:All kinds of injury risk behaviors of college students in Guizhou Province have high incidence and serious consequences,and there are different trends among different genders,regions,schools,grades and nationalities.The occurrence of injury is closely related to region,mother’s occupation,being beaten in date,dangerous behavior of falling,cycling violation,unsafe place behavior,campus violence and exercise behavior.Schools,families and society should actively establish a linkage mechanism to increase attention to college students’injury;government departments should formulate effective policies and measures conducive to promotion in view of college students’injury-related behaviors.When carrying out injury prevention and control work,various departments should carry out targeted intervention according to the crowd characteristics of the behavior,focusing on the dangerous behaviors closely related to injury.
