Cataract is a common eye disease in dogs, which is caused by the opacity of the lens, and then seriously affects the vision of dogs.Under the condition of immature cataract and normal animal retina function, cataract surgery can achieve good therapeutic effect. The higher the maturity of cataract, the worse the prognosis.Through analyzing and studying the data of canine cataract cases, the incidence, clinical manifestations, examination results, treatment methods and postoperative complications of canine cataract in veterinary clinic were summarized.Thereby providing reliable clinical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of canine cataract and the prevention and control of postoperative complications. This study is based on the data of 138 cases of canine cataract treated in Beijing Babitang International Animal Medical Center from January 1,2020 to December 31,2021.Through the examination of tear volume, intraocular pressure, fluorescent staining, slit lamp, pupil reflex, threat reflex, dazzling reflex, electroretinogram(ERG)and color Doppler ultrasound,we can fully understand the eye condition and vision of the dog,and give treatment suggestions. The postoperative visual acuity recovery and complications within 3 months were counted and treated. In this study,a total of 138 dogs with cataract were included, including 257 eyes,119 cases of OU(eyes),9 cases of OS(left eye)and 10 cases of OD(right eye). The average age of onset of cataract in dogs is 8.9 years old,and the incidence of cataract in 7-14 years old is higher, and the sum of the incidence of cataract in this age group is66.7%.The incidence rates of poodle, teddy and bichon dogs in this study were 20%,17.9% and 11.4% respectively.85.21% of the dogs were in the mature stage of cataract.12.76% of dogs with ultrasonic examination had vitreous liquefaction.RD accounted for 10.64%,lens dislocation accounted for 9.5%.ERG can predict the recovery of vision by evaluating retinal function, and 69.54% of dogs have good ERG results, suggesting phacoemulsification.7% of dogs were diagnosed with cataract accompanied by PRA,which seriously affected the eyesight of animals and there is no definite and effective treatment at present. The treatment of cataract in dogs is mainly through cataract surgery.According to the eye condition of the dog, choose the appropriate operation method, and explore the perioperative anti-inflammatory and complications treatment. On the first day after subconjunctival triamcinolone acetonide injection, atrial fibrillation(+-)accounted for66.67%,(+)accounted for 33.33%,compared with the control group(+-)20.37%,(+)51.85%,(++)25.92%,(+++)1.85%,with a lower degree of inflammation. On the fifth day after operation,83.33% of triamcinolone acetonide group and 68.51% of the control group recovered without atrial fibrillation.Seventy-five animals underwent cataract surgery successfully. In the statistics of complications after cataract surgery, corneal ulcer(20%),uveitis(13.30%),iris adhesion(9.3%),corneal edema(9.3%)and glaucoma(9.3%).
