Clinical Case Analysis And Treatment Of Cat Long Bone Fracture In Shenzhen

A fracture is a mechanical breakdown of the integrity or continuity of the bone as a result of external forces acting on it.In the veterinary clinical,fracture is one of the common surgical diseases of small animals,especially long bone fracture.If long bone fracture can not be treated reasonably,the quality of life of animals will decline in the future,which will bring some troubles to pet owners.With the development of economy,more and more people keep cats.As companion animals,cats have a higher status in the family.Due to the characteristics of curiosity,vigilance and stress,the probability of long bone fracture in cats is greatly increased.This paper collected the shenzhen on March 1,2017 to January 1,2022,during the new rui peng pet medical group treated 146 cases of long bone fractures in a cat as the research object,through the breed,age,sex,etiology,season,fracture position,fracture properties,diagnostic methods and treatment were analyzed,and the relationship between To provide theoretical basis for diagnosis,treatment and prevention of cat long bone fracture.Among the 146 cases collected in this study,the incidence rate of Zhonghua garden cat was the highest,with 75 cases(51.3%).There were 16 cases of long bone fracture in young cats(<1 year old),accounting for 11.0% of all cases;There were 128 cases of long bone fracture in adult cats(1～7years old),accounting for 87.7% of all cases;There were 2 cases of long bone fracture in old cats(>8 years old),accounting for 1.4% of all cases.Among them,126 young cats(1～5 years old)had long bone fractures,accounting for 98.4% of adult cats;There were 2 cases of long bone fracture in middle-aged cats(5～8 years old),accounting for 1.5% of adult cats.There were 87 male cats with long bone fracture,accounting for 59.6% of all cases;There were 59 female cats with long bone fracture,accounting for 40.4% of all cases.There were 19 cases of long bone fracture in cats in spring,accounting for 13.0% of all cases;There were 43 cases of long bone fracture in summer,accounting for 29.5% of all cases;There were 54 cases of long bone fracture in autumn,accounting for 37.0% of all cases;There were 30 cases of long bone fracture in winter,accounting for 20.5% of all cases.Among the causes of long bone fracture in cats,there were 20 cases of transverse fracture caused by falling from height,accounting for 25.3% of the causes of falling from height;There were20 cases of oblique fracture,accounting for 25.3% of the reasons for falling from height;There were39 cases of comminuted fracture,accounting for 49.4% of the reasons for falling from height.There were 6 cases of transverse fracture caused by external violence,accounting for 54.5% of the external violence factors;There were 2 cases of oblique fracture,accounting for 18.2% of the external violence factors;There were 4 cases of comminuted fracture,accounting for 27.3% of the external violence factors.There were 14 cases of transverse fracture caused by unknown factors,accounting for 25.0% of the cases of fracture caused by unknown factors;There were 24 cases of oblique fracture,accounting for 42.9% of the cases of fracture with unknown factors;There were 18 cases of comminuted fracture,accounting for 32.1% of the cases of fracture with unknown factors.Studies have shown that the most common site of long bone fracture in cats is the femur,which often leads to comminuted fractures.The fixation method is as follows: simple fractures of the shaft can be fixed with bone plates,simple fractures of the epiphysis can be fixed with crossed intramedullary nails,and comminuted fractures can be fixed with bone plates.If necessary,intramedullary nails can be used for auxiliary fixation.
