Discussion On The Treatment Of Common Fractures Of Small Animals

In order to improve orthopedic clinical experience and skills,this paper collected the information of 20 animals being broken from January 2014 to October 2015,wherein the fracturesof radius and ulna were 8 cases;the fractures of tibia and fibula were four cases;femoral fractures were 7 cases;humeral fracture was 1 case.So as to improve the efficacy of small animals’ conventional fracture,different methods of fixation were explored by the actual surgical procedures and observation and analysis of prognosis.Fracturesof radius and ulna in dogs and cats are the most common forelimb fractures,most of which are completely displaced and occur in the distal radius and ulna.This article have 8 cases about fractures of radius and ulna.In addition to the fourth patients treated with external fixation,other animals used the fixed plate fracture,which were based on clinical examination,imaging findings and agreement by pet owners.After operation,sick animals recovered well,and gradually restored normal motor function.All the possible complications worried aboutbefore surgery did not appear.Fractures of tibia and fibula in dogs and cats are common fractures of thehind legs,whichare the result of external force.Fractures of tibia and fibula often occur simultaneously,and oblique fractures and transverse fractures of the backbone are more common.In order to explore the best disposal options under different conditions in the fracturesof tibia and fibula and improve the success rate of fracture fixation,different internal fixation(intramedullary nail,bone plate,wire)methods were used in the four cases.In addition,the writer conducted a comprehensive analysis of the etiology,clinical symptoms,imaging finding and the prognosis.The results showed that sick animals recovered well,function ofthe hind leggradually returned to normal.The shaft and distal metaphysealFracturesare common in femoral fractures,which have a variety of forms,such as mummification fractures,oblique fractures and transverse fractures.This article have 7 cases about fractures of femur.The etiology,clinical symptoms,clinical examination methods and imaging findings were introduced.With my years of surgical experience,different fixation methods(Kirschner,bone plates,wire)were taken.The results showed that the animals recovered well,the gradual recovery of limb motor function,and then proved that the disposal programsofdifferenttypes of femoral fractures were reasonable.Inclinical practice,humeral fractures in dog is relatively rare,which were generally divided into the humeral head fractures,humeral shaft fractures,and so on.This case was a canine distal humeral fracture.The writer analyzed the causes of fractures,clinical symptoms,surgical fixation processand postoperative healing situation.The results showed that after plate fixation,the animal recovered well.The ninth day after operation,the dogwasable to walk the ground.Two weeks after operation,normal motor function gradually restored.It showed that the desired therapeutic effect was achieved by the use of bone plate in the distal humeral fracture.
