The vast village,the root of traditional Chinese culture,carries the local sentiment of traditional society and nurtures a stellar and glorious architectural heritage.However,with the withdrawal of population under urbanization and the passage of time,the architectural heritage is poorly preserved and the culture is declining,and the conservation of rural architectural heritage is urgent.In recent years,with the rapid development of digital technology,conservation by digital means has become an important technical tool for cultural heritage conservation worldwide,which provides new possibilities for the conservation of rural architectural heritage.How to determine the content of village architectural heritage preservation from a digital perspective,and how to use digital tools for the promotion of village culture and physical conservation work are issues worthy of in-depth discussion.In this regard,this study takes the rural architectural heritage of Chaozhou as its object.Firstly,the village genes are identified according to the theory of landscape genes.Secondly,according to the objectives of promoting village culture and supporting physical conservation,and the standardization of the database,as well as the presentation effect,the digital conservation information framework of the village was established.Third,according to the method of archiving and database of cultural resources,the conservation path of "collection and processing,library construction and management,and data utilization" is designed.Finally,two typical villages were selected for digital conservation work practice according to their characteristics.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:Chapter 1,Introductory.This chapter explains the background of the study,takes the villages of Chaozhou as the object of the study,defines the scope,clarifies the values and innovations,and introduces the ideas,methods,contents,and framework.Chapter 2,Summary.Through literature combing,the discussion of principles,paths and technical methods for the conservation of rural architectural heritage are summarized from two aspects: the development of digital conservation of architectural heritage and related research at home and abroad,and the application of digital technology in the conservation of rural architectural heritage,all of which lay the theoretical foundation for the study.Chapter 3,Research on the content framework for the digital conservation of rural architectural heritage in Chaozhou.Clarify the purpose,principles,and practices for each step in the pathway.Identifying the landscape genes of the Chaozhou countryside,enlightened by the theory of landscape genes.Constructing an information framework including macro village elements,important architectural elements and cultural elements by considering the characteristics of digitization.Chapter 4,Build work path: Collection and processing-Database and management-Data utilization.(1)In the acquisition and pre-processing section,the technical means,applicable instruments,specific operations,pre-processing methods and results of internal data inquiry,external field observation and recording,interview and spatial information acquisition are introduced.(2)In the library and management section,the logical framework of the relational database and GIS was built.(3)In the data utilization section,data mining,cultural interpretation and display,and assistance in physical conservation work,which are three ways of utilization,are introduced.Chapter 5,Digitalization practices in Longhu Ancient Village and Shifeng Village in Chaozhou City.The case of Longhu Ancient Village presents the experience of constructing and managing a database of complex villages,and the case of Shifeng Village presents the experience of physical conservation and cultural promotion of tourism-oriented villages.The two cases verify the feasibility of the pathway and obtain feedback.
