Investigation And Research On Wang-huo Of Shanxi And Design Practice Of Cultural And Creative Products

Wang-huo is a folk custom with a long history in Shanxi,often accompanied by major festivals.The fire is made of coal and wood piled into a tower and lit at a specific time.It is the custom of people in Shanxi to celebrate the festival.Due to a variety of reasons,the fire has been restricted by many local governments,this custom is gradually disappearing.At present,Wang-huo of Huairen has become a national intangible cultural heritage,and the custom of Wang-huo has been continued to a certain extent.From the point of view of the present,most of the researches on Wang-huo are records and analysis in the field of folklore.This paper takes Wang-huo of Shanxi as the research object and carries on the design practice of cultural and creative products with the theme of Wang-huo.China’s cultural and creative industry is booming,and the design of cultural and creative products of intangible cultural heritage is also a new direction of integrated development.Firstly,this paper analyzes and collates the literature of Wang-huo custom,summarizes the development process of Wang-huo custom,the steps of building,the process of activities and the good meaning of Wang-huo setting off in different festivals,and analyzes the appearance characteristics of Wang-huo and the art works related to Wang-huo.Secondly,the author set up an observation point in Jinzhong City of Shanxi Province to carry out a field investigation,and recorded several existing customs of flourishing fire in Jinzhong area of Shanxi Province with words and images,focusing on the appearance of flourishing fire and the color of the flame;And in the process of participating in the fire custom activities to feel the fire and gas;Then,by summarizing the preliminary research and field investigation,the paper explores the design of cultural and creative products from the plane and three-dimensional perspectives with the theme of popular fire custom.From the perspective of graphic illustration,we combine the custom of prosperous fire with the elements of ancient Jinzhong architecture to create the series of works named "Ancient City Spring Festival",and then create the series of works named "Nirvana" by representing the characteristics of prosperous fire with the image of phoenix,and transform these two series of works into diversified derivative products.Finally,according to the shape characteristics and cultural connotation of popular fire custom,I designed a series of creative matches,a series of creative candles and a series of creative candles.This study starts with the investigation and research of popular customs and carries out the design practice of cultural and creative products based on the cultural connotation and appearance characteristics of popular customs.The development of the popular fire custom has been restricted and reignited for several times.Under the current situation that the popular fire has largely disappeared,the development in the form of cultural creative products is a feasible plan to realize the inheritance and innovation of the popular fire custom.The author also hopes to retain a trace of fireworks with cultural creative matches and candle products.In this study,the cultural creative product design of Wang-huo custom has enriched the practical cases of cultural and creative design in the field of folk culture,and provided more feasible research ideas for the design and development of non-legacy cultural and creative products in the category of customs.
