Due to the needs of China’s urban development planning, the industrial structure of big cities has been adjusted and upgraded, and related industries such as heavy industry need to be re-laid.Many industrial departments with large land areas have migrated out of cities, and the original industrial addresses and related industrial facilities have been abandoned, resulting in large-scale industrial sites in cities.Such sites have a large area and land pollution, etc. In the past, the government mostly chose to abandon and demolish old buildings to build new plots. However, with the development of the times, the importance of culture has become more and more prominent. As an industrial heritage with high historical and cultural protection value, the government now chooses to renovate it,and reviving the vitality of heritage has become an important part of urban renewal.Industrial sites bear the history of cities. How to make use of abandoned industrial sites, maximize their historical and cultural values and bring their economic benefits into play is an urgent problem for many cities.Based on this situation, experts and scholars in urban planning put forward the theory of spatial regeneration and applied it to urban renewal.Taking space regeneration and industrial heritage protection as the guiding concept and renovation as the design method, this paper explores the regeneration and protection of Hefei industrial site-East New Center. At present, the industrial type of Hefei has changed from the traditional industry of steel smelting and processing to new industrial types such as high-tech electronics and new energy industries. The memory of the traditional industrial city is rapidly disappearing, but the scene memory and explicit traces of the old industrial era show the evolution of urban development, which is an important part of the urban cultural background. This paper starts with the history of Hefei’s overall industrial culture, takes the existing industrial sites as the research object, analyzes and transforms typical cases through on-the-spot investigation, and analyzes the spatial structure of industrial sites in combination with the theory of spatial regeneration and other related laws. This paper puts forward some related strategies, such as ecological restoration, architectural space regeneration, space function replacement, intelligent interaction and cultural inheritance,in an attempt to provide new ideas for the renewal and utilization of Hefei’s industrial heritage.Firstly, this study expounds the relevant research status and research background, and makes a comparative analysis of other industrial sites in Hefei, selecting the planned Hechai 1972,Hefei 1952 granary Wenchuang Garden,Changjiang 180 Art Block,Hefei Cheqiao Factory Wenchuang Art Museum and Hefei Jianhua Wenchuang Garden as the research objects, and analyzing and excavating the urban history and regional culture.Through the relevant case studies, the common points and related problems of the transformation are summarized, and the corresponding material and humanistic environment is derived. On this basis, the design plan of Hefei’s unfinished industrial heritage-Hefei East New Center is put forward. The research results emphasize the need to develop a "new center" of the city with historical and cultural characteristics and ecological industry integration on the basis of the existing site environment, with adaptation to functional requirements as the main transformation direction and protection of industrial culture as the main guiding connotation. And put forward the relevant protection principles and renovation schemes, aiming to play a certain reference role for the protection and utilization of other industrial sites in Hefei, with a view to improving the vitality of industrial sites and the regeneration and shaping of urban morphology and structure. |
