| With the emotional design trend,people have many differences compared with the past in consuming behavior,aesthetic preferences,and lifestyle.Designers gradually take the user’s feelings,experience,needs,and other perceptual elements as the design-oriented needs when designing products.However,due to different users’ perceptual cognition and preferences,it is challenging for designers to explore users’ perceptual cognition.Charm Engineering Theory provides a theory based on an analysis of a product’s charm,effectively dealing with the research problems between user perceptual cognition and product attractiveness.It is a better way for designers to utilize products’ attraction by analyzing and extracting product charm factors.Besides,focusing on the problems in the using process,user’s preferences and expectations,and other valuable elements are also helpful.Moreover,in order to meet users’ needs,using the system’s perceptual mode to formulate design opinions can contribute to the satisfying design.This article aims to explore the design methods to enhance the attractiveness of vases.According to the literature collection,it is evident that the improvement of the attractiveness of vases currently lacks the support of specific design theories and methods.The first step is to collect and sift a representative sample.The second step is to conduct EGM interviews with ten related experts and then use the evaluation grid method to screen and extract the summarized vase charm factors and compose an evaluation grid map.The third step is to make questionnaires based on the evaluation grid map,using them to obtain the target audience’s evaluation of the vase’s charm,and finally,collect 81 valid questionnaires.The fourth step is applying the quantification theory type I to analyze the influence of vase charm factors and then sort out the factors with a high degree of recognition.The fifth step is to use the data results obtained from the experimental data as the vase design principle and carry out vase design practice.The sixth step is to conduct design verification through questionnaire surveys to prove the feasibility of vase design research based on charm engineering.Based on the theory of charm engineering,this paper analyzes and extracts the vase’s charm factors and converts them into specific design elements to comprehensively explore the practice of vase design.Constructing the research system about the vase’s charm factors can improve the vase’s charm and increase users’ satisfaction.It is significant to the product’s competitiveness in the market and improves further development of vase design research.It plays a theoretical and practical role in product design and interdisciplinary collaboration.Therefore,these results can be used as guidance for designers or related researchers. |
