With the development of modern society and improvement of living standards, the function of a certain product is no longer the only factor citizens would consider about, while exterior plays a more and more important role with utility and user experience when consumers purchase goods. Thus, enterprises and designers work in them should premeditate meeting consumers’demands on outward appearance, and guarantee the quality of the product simultaneously. In the process of design, designers would evaluate and make decision constantly, generally based on their feelings. But they can not meet the demands of modern design, in which rationality and science means a lot as the object gets complicated and technology develops rapidly. Consequently, a rational and scientific way is required. It is not only picking and evaluation of design, but also amelioration of aesthetics, man-machine relationship and technology.Finding and utilizing a way to evaluate product design is the main purpose of this paper. Use statistical methods to analyze consumers’demand on certain product, take rules of product design into consideration simultaneously, in order to determine the intent and model of product design. Set standards of evaluation and quotations of kansei engineering up which rely on kansei engineering. Ascertain associated weighting coefficient of all the standards by the means of carrying a questionnaire survey out. And then analyze all the data so as to evaluate objectively and rationally in the final. By then we can have an accurate model of the certain product’s exterior and form a system to evaluate the product design. At last, we would practice this on OLED lamps and explain it in details, then prove that it really works.
