Study On Cold Region Residential Area Hard Landscape Design

This research developed a comprehensive investigation and analysis on the design,construction and utilization problems of residential areas’ hard landscape in cold regions.The cold regions mainly focus on the northeastern part of Heilongjiang Province in China.In order to draw a series of design suggestions and conclusions,which may inspire the future cold region residential areas’ hard,landscape construction.This paper firstly made a systematic analysis on the reality utilization situation of cold region newly built residential area hard landscape elements,which aims at collecting the practical and theatrical data and materials.Secondly,according to the overseas advanced design theory and practice,a thorough theoretical analysis and summarization was conducted on the obtained materials and data.Behavioral theory and Maslow’s needs-hierarchy theory are the theoretical research bases this research.Finally,it took Xiangguang Yuexiu residential area as the practical carrier of the research,reviewed the research logic and practice experience from the perspective of design plan,project design,plan revise and construction.Design strategies and methods with right value were put out by facilitating the interaction between design practice and design theory.The research results including the design principles and corresponding design methods for the hard landscape design and construction in cold region residential areas from the aspects of regionalism,functionality and artistry.Which aims at solving the common problems in the current landscape design of cold religion residential areas,such as insufficient seasonal adaptability,poor functional durability and poor ornamental value.These problems consume huge capital investment while the overall residential environment quality still remains poor,thus can’t satisfy the local residents basic requirements.This research took full use of the advantages of hard landscape elements and applied the targeted design study based on behavioral theory.The research results were applied to the project practice and the design outcomes were pretty good.The post-occupancy feedbacks of Xiangguang Yuexiu project fit well with the original theoretical design plan,which could demonstrate the positive significance of this study on the hard landscape design of cold region residential area.
