Traditional villages in China are important nodes in the change of production and lifestyle of Chinese people.Although the attention to traditional villages has been increasing in recent years, due to the unreasonable relationship between conservation and development, different starting points of all sectors for the conservation of traditional villages, the lack of a corresponding conservation system and other problems. There are still many traditional villages damaged to different degrees, and the protection situation is still serious.Enshi Prefecture has been inhabited by indigenous Tujia people since the Eastern Han Dynasty,in addition to Miao,Mongolian and many other ethnic minorities.Since the establishment of "Autonomous Prefecture" in the 19th century,as the only autonomous region of ethnic minorities in the province, together with the unique geomorphic environment,it has formed a regional settlement landscape cluster with regional characteristics of Bachu culture and ethnic characteristics.According to the distribution of traditional villages in Hubei, the number of traditional villages in Enshizhou ranks first in Hubei, and is much higher than Huanggang City, which ranks second, and Enshizhou is also one of the model cities for the protection and utilization of traditional villages in a concentrated and contiguous manner promulgated by the Caijian Tong. Therefore, the regional coordinated protection and development of traditional villages in Enshizhou should play an important role in the province’s rural revitalization and traditional village protection policies, which can be considered as an important basis for the "grand protection" of traditional villages in Hubei Province.Based on the complex network analysis theory and the perspective of landscape architecture, this study constructs the connection degree evaluation system of traditional villages in Enshi Prefecture, and generates the complex network model of traditional villages in Enshi Prefecture. The network topology, static geometry and statistical properties are analyzed from three aspects: the overall network structure, village subgroup structure and important nodes. The traditional villages in Enshi Prefecture are divided and classified from three levels: macro(i.e.the traditional village network in the whole scale of Enshi prefecture),meso(i.e.the clustering and subgroup structure division of complex network),and micro(i.e.the degree value and correlation of a single traditional village). Finally, four different districts, eight traditional village sub group structures and nine traditional village role types of Enshi traditional village are obtained, and targeted collaborative protection and utilization policies are put forward according to the nature of different levels of the network. It provides ideas for the integrated protection and coordinated development of other demonstration cities(districts)for the continuous protection of traditional villages and traditional villages across counties and cities.
