Research On Street Space Design From The Children-friendly Perspective

Streets are the main elements of urban public space.For a long time,the domestic street space in the process of urbanization is lack of discussion on humanization and fairness,ignoring children’s behavior and needs,and the contradiction between children,a vulnerable group,and urban street space is becoming increasingly prominent.Children’s daily travel safety and lack of behavior space in street space directly or indirectly affect the health and safety of urban children.In recent years,with the concept of "Children Friendly City" proposed by the United Nations Children’s fund,designers have changed their perspectives in the process of urban planning and design,providing important design ideas for urban renewal,humanized design,public space promotion and other aspects,and seeking more scientific and reasonable street design strategies and methods suitable for the development of the times.Firstly,in view of the lack of basic theoretical research on Children Friendly street space in China,this paper analyzes the relationship among the elements of street space,children’s behavior characteristics and children’s psychological needs from the perspective of children friendly,based on the relevant theories of environmental behavior psychology,ergonomics and children’s psychological development;Secondly,through pspl research method,follow-up interview method,questionnaire research method and other research methods,combined with the characteristics of the street status,space interface and facilities,we found that the street space of Chang’an South Road has a safety impact on children’s daily activities from the perspective of children’s friendliness,and children’s behavior in the street space is decentralized and indoor,There are some problems in the street,such as lack of space for children’s activities,single facilities and so on;At the same time,combined with relevant excellent cases at home and abroad,this paper expounds the constituent elements of street space from the perspective of children’s friendliness,puts forward four design principles of street space from the perspective of children’s friendliness,namely "security","comfort","functional complexity" and "interactive incentive",and analyzes the design strategies in traffic,space,scale and facilities;Finally,according to the above research conclusions,the street space and important nodes of Chang’an South Road are comprehensively designed to meet the space needs of children in the street space of Chang’an South Road.Through the research of this paper,we hope to provide a new design perspective for the future urban street space from the perspective of landscape architecture,guide the establishment of street public space that can really let children participate,experience,play and safety in the street space,and provide theoretical support for the development of street space from the perspective of children friendly.
