Urban street space is an important part of urban public space.Street is the context of connecting the city,and street space is the most direct activity place for people.In recent years,with the development of the city and the improvement of the quality of life,the growth of vehicles has made urban roads gradually dominated by car lanes.The attendant problems such as environmental noise pollution,traffic safety threat and lack of effective activity space are common in urban street space.This situation is a huge security risk for children with unknown external things.From the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990 to the construction of ’ child-friendly cities ’ in 2009,children’ s healthy growth environment has been paid more and more attention.At the national level and provinces and cities have launched the exploration of child-friendly cities,most of which focus on the construction of child-friendly research in communities and public spaces.From the perspective of children-friendly city,starting from the urban street space,taking Tieying Community Street in Zhengzhou City as a field case,this paper summarizes the relevant practice and research experience at home and abroad,deeply studies the design principles and construction elements of street space in children-friendly city,and puts forward the design update strategy for the current urban street space,so as to provide theoretical basis and practical reference for the development of children-friendly cities in China and the construction of street space in children-friendly cities.This paper mainly introduces the specific research content from the following several parts :The first part : clear the research object,background and purpose of the subject,and summarizes the research status at home and abroad.The second part : Analysis of the relationship between urban streets and children,around the subjective characteristics of children ’ s own psychology and behavior,as well as children ’ s activities in the street space and affected the objective environment,analyzes the common problems and shortcomings of the real street space.The third part summarizes the explorations in the construction of child-friendly urban street space at home and abroad,and sorts out mature theories and related case studies.The fourth part : through the improvement of children ’ s participation mechanism,safeguard the rights and interests of children safeguard measures to enhance children ’ s voice;the construction can meet the different needs of children in the street space environment safety travel organization form,namely the specific construction technique,to protect children in the street space free and happy safe travel.The fifth part : through practical application,Zhengzhou Tieying community street space as the research object,to explore the feasibility of children ’ s friendly mechanism has been built street space,and the problems existing in the transformation design.Part VI : Chapter VII of the paper.That is,the summary of the whole paper is also a reflection on the development of children ’s friendly cities in reality,and provides feasible suggestions for the street construction of children ’s friendly cities.Children as the main body of the future,the street is one of the important space places in its growth process,so it is worth our attention.The construction of street space in children-friendly cities can directly change the living environment of children and protect the rights and interests of children.
