| Children are the future of a country and the hope of a nation.With the growth of social population,the current population of children aged 0-18 in China has approached300 million.In March 2021,the Fourth Session of the 13 th National People’s Congress voted to pass the "14th Five Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China and the Outline of Long Range Goals for 2035",deploying the key task of "building children friendly cities",and creating children friendly cities has become a new perspective of urban governance.At present,the construction of children friendly cities in China is still in the exploratory stage.As an important component of the construction of a child friendly environment,conducting research on the child-friendly design of children’s public reading spaces is an important measure to adapt to the background of the times and promote the construction of children friendly cities.It helps to expand children’s growth space,optimize children’s reading environment,enhance children’s participation in cities,and promote children’s healthy development.Through literature review,case analysis,expert interviews and other ways,this study has formed a systematic understanding of the basic theories and academic research of children’s psychology,environmental behavior,children’s education,color psychology and other disciplines related to the concept of child friendliness,and comprehensively analyzed the excellent cases and practical experience of children’s reading space at home and abroad to find the design needs of children’s reading space,Summarize and organize the multi-dimensional design principles of child-friendly public reading spaces,providing theoretical basis for the research on child-friendly design of children’s public reading spaces;Empirical research takes Beijing as an example to organize policy documents and relevant current events,and explore the influencing factors of social,educational,policy,and economic backgrounds related to children’s public reading spaces in the central urban area of Beijing on the development of children’s public reading spaces.Using Python technology to select samples and conduct on-site research on typical children’s public reading spaces in Beijing.Through survey research,data organization,and current situation analysis,scientific basis is provided for subsequent qualitative and quantitative research;Based on on-site survey data,conduct quantitative analysis,conduct questionnaire surveys on the public,and use the IPA model for importance and performance analysis to obtain the public’s expectations and evaluations of the current situation of children’s public reading spaces in the central urban area of Beijing.Organize key dimensional features within the sample,in order to propose optimization strategies;Based on the previous data analysis and research results,this paper proposes optimization strategies for the current stock of children’s public reading spaces,and combines design principles to comprehensively summarize incremental design strategies for children’s friendly public reading spaces,exploring the application of construction plans for children’s public reading spaces.The final theoretical achievement of this study is to summarize the design principles of safety,convenience,fun,and functionality within the reading space,propose inventory optimization strategies and incremental design strategies for children’s public reading spaces in Beijing,and provide a theoretical basis for the study of child-friendly design of public reading spaces. |
