With the expansion of the scale of national educational undertakings,the transformation of personnel training mode and the change of space planning and behavior pattern between teachers and students,college or university is no longer simply a place for teachers and students to impart knowledge in class,but also a place to communicate and share with each other and a place to repose and amuse themselves especially in teaching area,one can well imagine that the comfort of outdoor thermal environment directly affects the activity rate and real experience of teachers and students.It is because of that different design elements such as the outdoor thermal environment,architectural layout,outdoor spatial form,scale and interface are closely geared to one another,therefore,this thesis studies the elements mainly including architectural layout and outdoor space design of teaching area for parts of the colleges and universitis in Chongqing from the perspective of outdoor thermal comfort,further on this thesis explores the design strategies resulting in favor of the promoting outdoor thermal comfort in summer.In this thesis,the author mainly engaged in the following six parts of work:The first chapter is background research.This part mainly defines the concept of outdoor space in university teaching area,geographical climate area in Chongqing,and outdoor thermal environment,at the same time clarifies the scope of study and research contents.By means of summarizing relevant literature,this thesis make it to help us getting more acquainted with the current progress and shortcomings of what this thesis mainly studied.The second chapter is the theoretical research part.This part studies the relevant theories of thermal comfort and the design field of university teaching area with its outdoor space.Through theoretical research,SET~* is determined as the thermal comfort evaluation index in this thesis,and the layout of teaching buildings and the design elements of outdoor space related to outdoor thermal environment are selected as the design elements of this thesis.The common research methods of outdoor thermal environment are summarized,and then the research methods and corresponding research elements used in this research are determined,which lays the foundation for the research in the third and fourth chapters.The third chapter is the research and analysis part that mainlyincluding three aspects: firstly,based on the field survey of Chongqing University,this thesis studys its design status and preliminarily experiences and subjectively evaluates the thermal environment of the outdoor space in summer;secondly,through the method of outdoor thermal environment measurement,this thesis furtherly studys the current situation and characteristics of the outdoor thermal environment of teaching area of university in Chongqing during summer,this thesis objectively evaluates it and rethink about it;thirdly,the regression analysis of SET~* value and people’s subjective evaluation of outdoor thermal environment is carried out by using the method of questionnaire survey and actual measurement,and the corresponding SET~* range of outdoor thermal sensation evaluation at all levels in Chongqing university users is proposed.The fourth chapter is the simulation part.Based on the results of field investigation,simplified models of different modes are established according to different design elements,and the thermal environment is simulated by ENVI-met simulation software.The conclusion of this chapter will serve as an important basis for strategy research.The fifth chapter is the strategy research and it’s application.On the basis of field investigation,field measurement and software simulation,and combine with practical cases,the design strategy of outdoor thermal environment in Chongqing University Teaching Area in summer is put forward,and the strategy also will be used in Yongchuan Vocational Education Center design to be proved and checked.It is hoped that the design strategy proposed in this thesis,as well as the method of using ENVI-met software to assist and check the outdoor thermal environment of the design scheme,can provide some references for the design of colleges and universities in Chongqing.
