| Along with the rapid development of China’s urban construction,the construction standards of drainage pipes under urban roads have gradually increased.Urban road drainage pipeline not only serves the function of daily sewage discharge and flood prevention in the rainy season,but also the increasing drainage volume is always testing the drainage system of the city.The drainage pipeline with excellent quality performance is essential for the urban drainage system and there are many varieties of drainage in the market,however,there is not a product that can last in the market,and the quality and performance of many products are increasingly not guaranteed under the interest drive of manufacturers.Excellent piping is not just about doing work on the basis of the original product,but also in the direction of new products for the pipeline.The new product development process is bound to have various difficulties,while bringing companies a variety of problems,such as new product development progress cannot be completed as scheduled,the development costs are too high leading to project stagnation,product performance does not match the needs of the market,and so on,ultimately leading to the failure of new product development.The risks in the new product development system are many and varied,and how to manage risk is an important guarantee for the success of new product development.How to identify and assess risks in the process of new product development is based on the theoretical basis and methods of risk management in project management.The research idea of the new product development project for Company C’s sewage pipes started with identifying risks,which involved organising the personnel of the development-related departments of Company C,using the brainstorming method and combining it with the project work breakdown structure,to identify potential risks;secondly,it applied the analytic hierarchy process method to assess and determine the weights of the risk factors for ranking,and then obtained the risk matrix based on the results of the ranking of the risk factors combined with the actual operation of Company C;finally,based on the results of the risk assessment,risk response and monitoring were carried out.This paper investigates the importance of risk management in product development projects through the study of risk management in new product development projects for Company C’s sewage pipes.Traditional enterprises in the understanding of the concept and system of risk management of new product development projects,from managers to grassroots staff do not pay attention to risk awareness,companies in the process of developing new products do not have a perfect risk management system,and from risk identification to risk assessment,risk response and monitoring are not effective management methods.Through the study of risk management knowledge,the risk management system of Company C was strengthened and further improved,and the workflow and methods of risk management for the new product development project of Company C’s sewerage pipes were found out,which ensured the smooth implementation of the project and gave important practical guidance to Company C’s scientific research and production management,as well as being able to give other companies carrying out similar new product development projects a useful experience and risk management case study. |
