Traditional dwellings are the crystallization of wisdom and sweat of local residents for a long time,and they are the products adapting to unique climate and natural environment.With the acceleration of China’s urbanization process and the improvement of people’s living standards,the indoor light and heat environment of traditional dwellings can no longer meet the physiological and psychological needs of contemporary people.Therefore,it is an urgent need to protect the regional traditional dwellings today to explore and sort out the construction wisdom suitable for the regional environment,and to effectively update and transform the traditional dwellings in combination with modern technological means,so as to save the building energy consumption.This study makes a comprehensive analysis of the unique natural and humanistic conditions in northeast Sichuan.Drawing the constructal shape of typical traditional residential dwellings through field investigation and on-site mapping.Refining construction technology adapting to local traditional dwellings climate through architectural climate analysis method.Based on literature review and interviews,this paper revealed the constructal wisdom of climate adaptability of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan in the aspects of location and form,space and scale,structure and materials.This study summarized the local villagers’ living rules and the expectation to indoor thermal environment through the subjective questionnaire summary,and carried out indoor physical environment tests on typical traditional dwellings.So as to summarrize the existing three problems of the indoor environment of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan are insufficient lighting,higher temperatures in summer,unsatisfactory indoor thermal environment.So aiming at the problems existing in the traditional residential dewellings,this study put forward the reconstructal architectural design strategies for lighting(space combination,window-wall ratio,and lighting structure)and heat insulation(material and form of roof and exterior wall),and made qualitative and quantitative analysis on the proposed passive strategies.Then on this basis,a typical traditional residential model is established,and the feasibility of the proposed passive strategies is verified by simulation.The average lighting coefficient of the renovated central room is 36.6% higher than that of the original one;the average lighting coefficient of wing-room 1 and wing-room 2 increased by 1.591% and 1.63% respectively;the energy-saving rate of the peripheral protection structure reached 27.79% after reforming of heat insulation analysis.To sum up,aiming at the specific climate conditions and the existing problems of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan,this paper systematically studied various strategies of climate adaptability for the local dwellings and verified the effectiveness of retrofit strategy.It provided a reference for the construction and renovation of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan in the future.
