Research On The Public Space Of Ancient Village Forts In Yuxian County Based On Etiquette And Custom Activities

Since the publication of the book "The Castle of Yuxian" written by Professor Luo Deyin in 2007,the building background and construction techniques of the Ancient Village Fort in Yu County have been carefully studied and surveyed.Especially with the publication of several batches of historical and cultural famous villages and towns and five batches of traditional villages,the architectural heritage and traditional villages of Yuxian area have been widely concerned.Research and protection of ancient villages in Yuxian area have been gradually carried out.However,the predecessors’ research work mainly focused on the surveying and mapping and construction skills of Professor Luo Deyin’s team,and the Tianjin University team’s study of settlements based on the background of the Great Wall defense system.They lacked the daily humanistic life of the rural society in Yuxian area.At the same time,the current village protection work has the problem of separating the material heritage from the intangible culture.The building repairs ignores the "people-oriented",the building can be retained but the culture cannot be retained,and it is separated from the display and utilization of the aborigines and the original functions.Many drawbacks have also been exposed.Therefore,based on the above practical problems,this article classifies and studies the daily etiquette and custom life in the ancient village of Yuxian County,and analyzes and contrasts the etiquette and custom activities and the village public space at different levels based on the correlation between them.The author has conducted visits and surveys and recorded surveying and mapping of ancient villages in Yuxian County for several months.Based on a large number of survey data,the author has carried out a more systematic induction and analysis work,and then according to the architectural morphology divided the village public space into “point-shaped,linear,Planar” space.and carefully analyze the characteristics of the interface,level,and enclosure of different forms of space from the perspective of space analysis in architecture.At the same time,it analyzes the use and psychological feelings of different types or stages of ritual and custom activities in different forms of space,and then summarizes the characteristics and interaction of ritual and custom activities and the village public space.The form of public space in the ancient village fort in Yuxian County and the daily etiquette and custom activities in the village influence each other.The defensive performance determines the form of the village fort,and the etiquette and custom activities affect the form,layout and organization of the public space of the village fort.To protect Yuxian village fortresses,we must respect the emotional sustenance of local villagers and the rich intangible cultural heritage.
