| In the ancient Chinese timber structure buildings,no matter the roof form is the Wu Dian,the Xie Shan,the Xuan Shan or the Ying Shan,the roof are all with the shape of the reverse curved which is steeper as it goes up.This curved roof is one of the important characteristics of ancient Chinese architecture,and it is a unity of the function,the structure and the form.Therefore,the research on the design method of this concave curved roof is an important research object of the history of Chinese architecture,especially the history of the technology of the timber structure.This article sorts out five concave curved roof design methods from the existing relative history documents and relative modern researches,while takes fifty one existing building remains of the Northern Song Dynasty(960AD~1127AD)as research objects.By field investigation and literature data collection,we had acquired the relative data of those fifty one building remains and analyzed these data from the angles of the abovementioned five design methods to preliminarily judge the method type of each building remains.Then combining this prliminary conclusions with both the era and regional backgrounds of each building remains,we summerize the chronological changes and regional distribution of the design method of this remains and try to establish an era scale and a regional scale.Finally we try to summerize the rheological characteristics and laws of the design method in the era of the Northern Song Dynasty and put forward the reasons behind the formation of these rheological laws.This research is to enrich and perfect the research on the history of chinese architectural technology;it has certain theoretical value and academic significance for in-depth understanding of the northern song dynasty timber structure technology,architectural design and construction technology;the research also has certain guiding significance for the future investigation,protection and repairs of ancient building remains. |
