Research On M&A Performance Evaluation Of Qingdao Haier’s Merger And Acquisition Of General Household Appliances From The Perspective Of Balanced Scorecard

There are two main ways for modern enterprises to seek development:one is the accumulation of capital inside the enterprise,the other is external expansion,and the main means is merger and acquisition.Merger and acquisition can enable enterprises to quickly expand the scale,the formation of synergies,so as to enhance their competitiveness.Household appliance industry is one of the representative industries of China’s manufacturing industry and plays an incomparable important role in economic development.However,in recent years,home appliance market tends to saturation,the competition between enterprises is more and more intense.However,the internal accumulation time is long and the effect is slow,so more and more home appliance enterprises choose to develop themselves through mergers and acquisitions.This paper takes Qingdao Haier’s purchase of general household appliances as an analysis case and selects the financial data of Qingdao Haier from 2014 to 2019,and analyzes and evaluates the performance of the merger through the balanced scorecard and analytic hierarchy process.Firstly,this paper briefly introduces the background and significance of the study,and the research status of M&A performance evaluation and balanced scorecard evaluation method in existing domestic and foreign literatures is summarized,the contents and methods of the study are also introduced.Then,the related theoretical basis is introduced.Then,it introduces the basic situation of both sides,the motivation of the parties and the process of merger and acquisition.Then,from the four dimensions of the balanced scorecard,specific evaluation indicators are selected,and carries on the contrast analysis to these indexes,then use analytic hierarchy process(AHP),through the establishment of hierarchical model and judgment matrix to determine the weights,and a quantitative score,calculate the comprehensive score of the acquisition,and the final evaluation conclusions was drawn from four dimensions respectively,and finally put forward Suggestions and enlightenment.The purpose of this paper is to provide reference for M&A performance evaluation of home appliance industry and enrich the application cases of balanced scorecard.
