The Artistic Application Of Catalyst Theory In Urban Square Landscape

The people regard the era nowadays is the fourth iteration period of industrial civilization,in which the main feature of this new era is characterized by the rapid dissemination of information.When it comes to the existing substance in urban space,it has become the application potential of the "catalyst" medium,which makes the era start to pay attention to the "catalyst theory".Based on the new perspective,it carries out the interpretation,analysis,positioning,design,and activation on the square in the urban space on which people live for the purpose of making it suitable for the development of the era,be able to continue the context of the city,and shape the city business card,so that the people’s pursuit for a better life can be satisfied.Thus,this thesis carries out the exploration on this topic.This paper clarifies the theoretical connotation and essential features of the urban "catalyst theory" according to the analysis and research on its development context.Besides,it makes summary and refinement of the extension method that can be used in landscape design,so as to provide the guidance for the innovation of the design elements of the catalyst medium in the city square.The intervention in the original square can be realized through the design of a series of catalyst elements with urban characteristics,so as to bring about the change of the overall layout design.On the one hand,it tries to achieve the improvement of function of the original square in terms of the flow of people in square,the traffic,the arrangement of rhythm.On the other hand,it carries out special design on the expression of humanistic care and urban characteristic design of the catalyst element,so as to make the front square of the station become the carrier of multiple information based on the application of function,including the aspects of urban brand communication,urban folk style display,urban landscape appearance and so on.
