Research On Microspatial Renewal Of Old City Under Catalyst Theory

Today,China’s urban development has entered a new normal period of quantitative connotation,and the redevelopment and reuse of old cities has become the mainstream of current development and renewal.The small scale and high compactness of microspace have an inestimable effect on the urban repair of the old city and the improvement of the quality of life of people in the old city.However,in the construction of the old city,microspatial renewal as a small-scale spatial resource is often ignored,and shows a series of problems,such as the lack of microspace,the site is seriously encroached upon by modern transportation,functional decline,environmental decline,and the fragmentation of humanistic and historical context.As a typical densely populated old town with rich historical resources,the current situation of microspace in Xi’an Mingcheng District is representative to a certain extent.This paper takes the microspatial resources in the northwest area of Xi’an Mingcheng District as the research object,applies the urban catalyst theory to microspatial renewal,and guides the microspatial renewal of the northwest area of Xi’an Mingcheng District.Firstly,the common problems of microspace in old cities and the phenomenon of urban catalyst theory shifting to the landscape field in recent years are explained,and on this basis,the research purpose,significance,framework,method and content are preliminarily proposed.Secondly,the microspace,microspace renewal and urban catalyst theory of the old city are summarized,and the detailed study of the basic theory lays a theoretical foundation for the later strategy.Next,the micro-spatial renewal of the old city is creatively combined with the catalyst theory,including the feasibility and superiority analysis of the introduction of urban catalyst theory into the micro-space renewal of the old city,the excellent case analysis of the micro-space renewal of the old city with catalyst effect at home and abroad,and the proposal of a complete catalyst strategy in the micro-space renewal of the old city.Next,the focus is on the actual site,and the field research method questionnaire survey method and other investigation and research methods are used to thoroughly investigate the overall environment and microspace resources of the northwest area of Xi’an Mingcheng District,and summarize the practical problems of microspace in the northwest area of Mingcheng from the perspectives of material space,communication space and spiritual space.Finally,the methodology is applied to practice,and the catalyst strategy of microspatial renewal in the old city explored above is applied to the renewal practice of microspace in the northwest area of Mingcheng District,and the five steps of determining the catalyst angle,selecting the catalyst point,renewing and shaping different types of catalyst points,and controlling and guiding the catalyst effect are discussed in detail,so as to achieve the purpose of rejuvenating the microspace in the northwest area of Mingcheng under the catalyst theory.The following conclusions are obtained:(1)The renewal and activation of microspace in the old city can use catalyst means.(2)The microspatial catalyst point in the northwest area of Mingcheng is mainly updated from four perspectives: space,environment,function and culture.(3)Based on the comprehensive consideration of the most easily transmitted area of catalyst power in the northwest area of Mingcheng,the pain points of public life in the Ming City Wall and the connection degree of public space system,32 micro-space catalyst points with development potential were identified,and their renewal and shaping can fully activate the vitality of public space in the old city.(4)The 32micro-space catalyst points in the northwest area of Xi’an Mingcheng were divided into comprehensive rest-type micro-space catalyst points,entertainment building micro-space catalyst points,cultural display micro-space catalyst points,landscape ecological micro-space catalyst points and distributed micro-space catalyst points,and different catalyst renewal strategies were proposed for different functional catalyst points,and micro-space trial design was carried out.(5)The control of microspatial renewal in the northwest area of Mingcheng is mainly divided into three steps: first,the microspace catalyst point is updated in stages,secondly,the slow travel system of the old city is established and improved,and finally the microspace is connected into a system,which affects the public life of the public space in the old city;The guidance of its micro-space update includes folk cultural activities,management mechanisms,online media,and smart city technology.Through the research and discussion of this paper,it is hoped that from the perspective of landscape architecture,an update design method that is compatible with the microspace in the northwest area of Mingcheng in Xi’an can be explored,so as to enhance the public space and public life vitality of the old town in the northwest area of Mingcheng with the intervention of point-based micro-space catalysts.At the same time,it also provides a reference for the renewal of other old city public spaces similar to the northwest area of Mingcheng.
