| The construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is not only a national development strategy,but also undertakes the major mission of promoting high-quality growth of China’s economy and realizing the transformation of new and old drivers of economic growth.Although the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area far surpasses the other three major bay areas in terms of economic growth,land area,and population,there are still problems such as insufficient market-based liquidity in the allocation of production factors,and resources between urban agglomerations in the internal industrial structure upgrade and problems such as insufficient integration.By improving the efficiency of market element allocation,integrating urban functional zoning,realizing the upgrade of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the extension of the industrial chain are the main topics for building the Greater Bay Area Economic Community under the new situation.As a major breakthrough in transportation infrastructure,the opening of high-speed rail has a major impact on the mobility of production factors and the reduction of costs: on the one hand,the opening of high-speed rail can greatly shorten the space-time distance between regions,enhance inter-regional accessibility,and promote inter-city talent,the rapid flow of capital,technology and other factors of production;on the other hand,the efficiency of resource allocation within urban agglomerations has been improved,and industrial agglomeration can significantly enhance and improve the development level and employment of the service industry-based tertiary industry.Therefore,studying the impact mechanism of the opening of the high-speed rail on the industrial structure of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can better solve the problem of industrial structure upgrading,improve its ability to lead and radiate economic growth in surrounding areas.It is of great significance for the development of regional industries and the construction of a first-class internationally competitive Bay Area.Combining the existing research results of domestic and foreign scholars,and on the basis of combing the economic development and industrial structure of urban agglomerations,this article uses the 11 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and 9 prefecture-level cities around the Pearl River Delta in the Bay.Panel data is used to construct a double-difference model with the opening of high-speed rail as the core explanatory variable.The empirical analysis of the impact of high-speed rail opening on the industrial structure is carried out from the perspectives of advanced industrial structure,rationalization of industrial structure,optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,and the proportion of manufacturing industry.This article comprehensively researches that: the opening of the high-speed rail can significantly improve the rationalization and advancement of the industrial structure of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area;it has a significant positive role in promoting the development of traditional manufacturing and mid-to-high-end manufacturing in the Greater Bay Area;it has increased the proportion of the high-end service industry in the producer service industry,and has significantly enhanced the spillover effect of regional industries,which has a significant radiating and leading role in the urban industrial structure distributed in the surrounding areas of the Bay Area.Finally,based on the above research,countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: We must continue to strengthen the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area high-speed rail network,accelerate the elimination of backward production capacity,promote the development of new industrial engines,achieve optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,and promote high-quality economic development. |
