Stroke is the most common type of cerebrovascular disease-causing limb dysfunction in urban and rural residents.Among the sequelae caused by stroke, hand motor dysfunction is the most prominent one.Patients in the stages of spasticity and beyond are only able to complete a small range of movements in the affected limb, and are even unable to perform autonomous activities, resulting in patients being unable to complete autonomous rehabilitation training. At present, the research on rehabilitation training for patients in this rehabilitation stage is limited, and the main training method mainly relies on the patient’s own rehabilitation system, which has the problems of lack of systematic periodic training and high cost of rehabilitation treatment, resulting in low efficiency of traditional rehabilitation training. In addition, due to the repetitive passive training, the active participation of the central nerve in the brain is low, resulting in slow recovery of the damaged central nerve and thus cannot effectively promote the rehabilitation of limb function. The research on the cross-migration effect found that systematic rehabilitation training of the healthy limb can help promote the rehabilitation of the motor function of the affected limb. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the and the design principles and application of cross-transfer effect in stroke hand rehabilitation assistive devices, explore the rehabilitation mechanism of central nervous system and limb motor function on the affected side of stroke patients based on the cross-transfer effect, analyze the existing stroke hand rehabilitation products combining with the study of user needs, and complete the design and development of bilateral limb co-motor rehabilitation assistive devices. The main contents of which including as follow:(1)The study firstly explored the effect of stroke central nervous system damage on hand function from the study of stroke hand rehabilitation stages and hand kinematic characteristics, and conducted a study on hand rehabilitation based on brain plasticity, and established the regulatory relationship between brain central nervous system recovery and hand function rehabilitation, which was used to guide hand rehabilitation training.(2)The mechanism and application of the cross-transfer effect were investigated, and the characteristics, triggering conditions and application scenarios of the cross-migration effect were clarified, and the design principles of stroke rehabilitation aids based on the cross-migration effect were summarized.(3)To conduct subjective and objective user research on the user of rehabilitation assistive devices, patients, family members and physicians were surveyed, subjective user research was conducted in the form of questionnaires, interviews and field research, objective user data was obtained by user behavior observation method, deep user needs were condensed and a list of user needs for stroke hand rehabilitation was formed, which was used to guide the development of rehabilitation assistive devices.(4)Explore the cross-transfer rehabilitation training model based on progressive resistance training, including the rehabilitation training of the healthy and passive rehabilitation training model.Through research and analysis of similar products, design elements were extracted from the perspective of styling style,human-machine interaction, and CMF.(5)The design practice of stroke hand rehabilitation assistive devices, starting from the user needs, guided by the analysis of design elements, planning the functional architecture of the product, completing the screening of conceptual design, sketching scheme refining, styling design, structure details and CMF design, proposing a complete design of hand rehabilitation assistive devices, and completing the development of the prototype of the aids to realize the transformation from user needs to the function of rehabilitation assistive devices. This paper takes user needs as the starting point, based on the cross-transfer effects, explored the rehabilitation mechanism and rehabilitation training mode of the healthy and affected sides, and summarizes the design principles of hand rehabilitation assistive devices,to provide theoretical and application references for the cross-transfer effect in the design and development of rehabilitation assistive devices.
