At present, the world is facing the problem of population aging. The elderly in China account for about 42% of the world’s elderly population. Therefore, providing quality living environment for the elderly has become a major concern in the academic community.Especially in the rural areas of China,a large number of old people stay in the countryside, which makes the age structure of rural population seriously aging, and presents a large scale, momentum, aging trend. At the same time, there are many particularities in traditional villages in terms of culture and life characteristics. How to ensure that the elderly in traditional villages have their dependence on the elderly has important practical and social significance.Rural landscape space,as an important place for the daily activities of the elderly, has an important impact on the behavior of the elderly. In addition, traditional villages have great development prospects with rich tourism resources, and the elderly will become the main potential consumer groups. In view of this, take this as a research topic.Based on the theoretical basis of environmental behavior, and drawing on the theory and practical experience of the aging of rural landscape and urban public space at home and abroad, this paper selects three typical traditional villages in Hunan Province, and summarizes the aging of traditional villages in Hunan Province from two aspects: the typical landscape environment and the behavior of the elderly Transformation strategy. This paper will focus on three types of landscape space used by the elderly in traditional villages in Hunan Province: waterfront space, public building space and road space. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter explores the background of the topic, finds out the shortcomings of the aging of traditional village landscape environment, defines the purpose, significance and research content of the paper, and puts forward the corresponding research methods for the research content, and finally establishes the research framework for the research ideas of the paper. The second chapter is based on the theory of environmental behavior, from environmental behavior, environmental cognition, the relationship between the physical landscape environment and the elderly as research guidance. The third chapter analyzes the current situation of traditional village landscape from the macro level, the meso level, and the micro level. The fourth chapter uses the image recording method and behavior observation method to obtain the spatial location and behavior activity information of the elderly, analyzes the behavior activity type, activity rule and landscape environment use frequency of the elderly in the landscape environment through GIS Spatial statistics, quantitative analysis of traditional village environmental data, and through research interviews to obtain environmental awareness of the elderly,so as to get the relationship between the landscape environment and the behavior of the elderly. Finally, the comparative study of three types of typical landscape space summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the adaptability of Hunan traditional village landscape space. In the fifth chapter,on the basis of summarizing the current situation and analysis results of the third and fourth chapters, combined with the relevant theoretical literature research, drawing lessons from the experience of aging cases at home and abroad, summed up the aging transformation strategy of traditional village landscape. In order to provide reference for the traditional village landscape environment aging and rural planning and design.
