Nowadays,in the context of the rapid development of China’s economic level,more developed large cities have already experienced problems such as shortage of land resources,traffic congestion,and high population density.Just like the western cities in the past,the automobile-led mode of transportation has caused our cities to fall into the predicament of disorderly spread.Faced with this situation,the first choice to solve the problem of space development in China’s large cities is to establish an urban public transportation system centered on rail transit.Although the development and construction of rail transit has brought opportunities for the development of the radiant area with the site as the core,in the actual development process,many problems have also appeared in the public space of the site with the site as the core.Due to the rapid development of rail transit,the public space in the station area has not been able to develop in concert with the urban public space.There have been severe fragmentation of the public space,a single mode and function of the public space,inconvenient passenger transfers,fragmented walking space,and lack of regional cultural characteristics And various problems such as lack of pleasantness.Faced with these problems,this article introduces the TOD theory,from the three levels of how to create a reasonable and efficient urban transportation system,how to guide the multi-functional high-density comprehensive development and how to create a people-oriented high-quality living atmosphere.The specific solution strategy of the problem.Based on the research of a large number of documents at home and abroad and the summary of practical cases,this article first clarifies the concept and connotation of the research objects-"station-domain public space" and "Chengdu district-level site",and defines its research scope.Then by analyzing the development process and current situation of subway transportation station and urban public space,the internal connection between the public space of the station area and the subway station and the urban public space is summarized,and the development goals and trends of the public space of the subway station area are expounded.On the basis of theoretical research,through the selection of survey sites,on-site surveys,questionnaire surveys,oral interviews,data collection and comparison,etc.,the current status of Chengdu’s district-level sites is comprehensively combed and analyzed,and Chengdu is summarized.The common problems in the public space at the district level.When introducing TOD theory to solve the problem,firstly analyze the cause of the current situation of the public space in the district level of Chengdu,and combine the connotation of TOD theory to analyze the part of the connotation of TOD theory that is related to the cause of the current situation,and then use the TOD theory Three levels of content-systematically integrating urban transportation resources,promoting the efficient use of urban space resources,and connecting the overall context of the urban environment-as a framework to solve the current situation of public space in district-level stations in Chengdu,and finally proposed specific Design strategy of public space at the district level.Finally,combined with the TOD integrated design project of Taipingyuan Metro Station in Chengdu,the author further discussed the application of TOD theory in practical projects and carried out the scientific and operability of the design strategy of public space in the metro area of Chengdu test.
