Research On Urban Design Of Daoxianghulu Station Area Of Line16of Beijing Subway

With large urbanization and growing urban expansion in Beijing, building edgecity through combination of rail transportation and high-tech industry becomes a newparadigm of urban construction. The development of infrastructure, industrial spacegive rise to more and more large scale urban planning, such as DaoXiangHu group inthis paper. However, during the process of urban planning, large-scale rail-edge citiesusually adopt the model by which a city erects integrally and rapidly, and the scale isoften exaggerated and unrealistic. The urban designing of these cities tend to ignore theneeds of their citizens, generating a lot of urban spaces where people cannot play dailyactivities. As a result, traditional daily life, as an important part of urban activities, isvanishing in our new cities.Our study relies on the practical urban designing project of DaoXiangHuLu stationarea of Line16of Beijing subway, and our key research focus on the urban space anddesigning of DaoXiangHu group and subway station area. By study of background ofdevelopment of Haidian northern area and urban planning of DaoXiangHu group, weattempts to discuss the certainty and uncertainty in the development of urban space inDaoXiangHuLu subway station area, and the shortcomings in public commercialservice facilities and other transportation. Combined with relative theories and casesand study of the same type of spaces in Beijing, we try to discuss the spatial feature,commercial service facilities, transport links and other urban designing elements insubway station area of edge cities, from a diachronic perspective and based on the needsof daily life of multiple people. On the basis of these studies, this paper attempts to putforward constructive ideas for the urban designing of DaoXiangHuLu subway stationarea.
