Optimization Design Strategy Of Public Space On Campuses Of Primary And Secondary Schools Under The Perspective Of Constituional Health Promotion

With the outbreak and spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19),“health” has presently become a hot and important key word.The “Healthy China 2030” Planning Outline definitely points out that healthy buildings are a demand of the “Healthy China” strategy,primary and secondary school students are gaining more attention as a reserve force for national prosperity and a special population group in the society;the importance of healthy campus construction and promotion of constitutional health of primary and secondary school students has been elevated to an unprecedented strategic height;a public health revolution has elevated the idea of “health establishment” to the level of life quality improvement,and the health promotion mode of multidisciplinary,collaborative,and cross-over research has become relatively mature.Under this context,it is of certain theoretical and practical significance to explore the correlation between public space of primary and secondary school campuses and constitutional health of primary and secondary school students by referring to the epidemiological theories and methods of the public health discipline and to propose optimized strategies for the design of public space on campus at the present stage.First of all,in order to trace the development history of public space on campuses of primary and secondary schools at home and abroad with the focus placed on the current situation of the use of public space on campus in Wuhan,thirty-one primary and secondary schools in Jianghan District were selected to conduct field research to understand the use of public space on campus by primary and secondary school students,and meanwhile official data on the constitutional health indicators of students in each school were collected,and the constitutional health status of primary and secondary school students studying and living on different campuses was evaluated.Secondly,with an integration of related theoretical knowledge of the disciplines of public health,statistics and architecture,by referring to the epidemiological cross-sectional analysis method,and by adopting vital capacity as a variable characterizing constitutional health and quantizing data to identify health influence factors in spatial environment,the correlation between the public space on campuses of primary and secondary schools and the constitutional health of primary and secondary school students therein: relatively large campus size,abundant types of public space,relatively diverse sporting facilities,good accessibility to public space,and relatively high vegetation coverage in spatial environment are all conducive to the promotion of students’ constitutional health.Finally,based on the results of analysis by a combination of the above theory and the practice,this paper provides guiding strategies of optimization design for the public space on campuses of primary and secondary schools in the design or optimization stage from the perspective of health promotion: accessibility,diversity,connectivity and high quality of the public space of primary and secondary school campuses,and demonstrates the correlation between spatial environment and constitutional health based on a combination of the cases.The paper begins by introducing the frontier concept of "healthy campus",explores methods of campus space environment design from the perspective of constitutional health of primary and secondary school students by combining preventive medicine and architecture,and puts forward suggestions suitable for the construction of regional education buildings in Wuhan,to effectively solve health-related problems in the construction of primary and secondary school campuses,so as to ultimately meet the education demand for primary and secondary school campuses in Wuhan for the present and future,therefore having certain theoretical and practical value.
