As an important place to implement basic education, primary and secondary school campus play an important role in the physical and mental growth, behavior shaping, and knowledge accumulation of primary and secondary school students, profoundly affecting the quality of basic education. After the transition of China’s basic education system from exam-oriented education to quality-oriented education, the needs of primary and secondary school students and the way of education and teaching have changed, however, the current primary and secondary school campus are generally unable to meet the current needs.Based on this background, this article combines previous academic achievements and a large number of examples and excellent programs in primary and secondary school campus to deeply explore the concept, essential characteristics, morphological characteristics, and other aspects of "overhead",proposes using "overhead" as a means to reconcile the contradictions between the old model of primary and secondary school campu and the needs of current primary and secondary students and the new education model, and attempts to summarize specific application strategies, hoping to improve the overall environment of primary and secondary school campus and provide a healthier and more comfortable campus environment for contemporary primary and secondary students.Firstly, the paper analyzes the characteristics of education and teaching methods under the quality education system.Starting with the main user of primary and secondary school campus-primary and secondary school students, using the methods such as data analysis, questionnaire surveys,face-to-face interviews, field research, and so on,it is found that the current needs of primary and secondary school students for sports health, communication, performance, and expression have been ignored for a long time,as well as their desire for an open and diverse campus space. However, the current primary and secondary school campus generally have problems such as insufficient openness and monotonous space. The core issue is the lack of communication space, which is reflected in the architectural design level mainly by the lack of display space, narrow traffic space, remote activity space, and single learning space, which requires urgent transformation.Subsequently, after in-depth analysis and research on the evolution and essential characteristics of the construction method of "overhead",the author analyzed the spatial characteristics of "overhead" from the perspective of architectural design, and summarized three archetype of "overhead";and it has been found that the characteristics of overhead, such as open-transparency,open-fluidity,and open-adaptation,can effectively enrich vision, trigger behavior, and create diversity, which can just be used to make up for the shortcomings in current primary and secondary school campus. Moreover, the three archetype of "overhead"-pavilion-type overhead,corridor-type overhead, and hall-type overhead have strong adaptability and practicality, and can be flexibly applied to campus design with high feasibility. After using the overhead method, the openness of the entire campus spatial form and the diversity of architectural functions can be greatly enhanced. Finally, through the analogy analysis of a large number of specific cases and excellent design schemes, the paper classifies the application locations of "overhead",analyzes the functions it can undertake, summarizes its application methods in primary and secondary school campus, summarizes the application strategies of "overhead" in improving the spatial form of primary and secondary school campus, and combines the actual engineering projects I have participated in,with a problem-oriented and practical perspective, deliberates in the design, and applies in practice. |
